About Me

Currently a student who loves to hear stories, better with some music in the air, best when laying on a beach with a bonfire.
I usually get easily distracted by old buildings and maps but nothing could shift my focus from eating, making or even just talking about food. Or maybe yes: movies can. I just love them.
I love to sing although I'm totally off-key but I like to think the proper amount of wine can fix this issue (among the others).
At train stations and airports I like to build background stories of other passengers waiting based on their traits and accessories just to not bore myself.
Deeply inside I think I'm just too serious that's why my comfortable me is just a funny and naive guy who asks dumb and weird questions like "Can you imagine how the world would be without kangaroos?"
In the end, I'm just an average Italian student who gets excited for small things like a good landscape.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Not too long ago, I was asked what was, in my opinion, the whole purpose of life. You know, that's not the sort of question a 23 years old boy could answer in the middle of a square of a city on the top of a mountain or in any other circumstance whatsoever. Nevertheless, the only concept i could bring out was "knowledge". I suppose I wanted to highlight, unconsciously, the importance of understanding in order to live a just and thorough life.
As a matter of fact, every time people from different parts of the world have met, philosophy, arts and literature have been produced proving how crucial traveling is to broaden someone's knowledge and thus mind.
To couchsurf is, in this regard, the best way to get to know local people who are carriers of a different culture and ideas.

Music, Movies, and Books

- Music: my favorite song is Elephant Gun by Beirut and i don't have an explanation for it. I find it hard to define my tastes because it wouldn't be a problem for me to start from Vivaldi's "Four seasons", go on with symphonic metal and rock, then graze some Bjork's works just to land in the valley of Indie music whose exit takes you to pop world with Madonna and Beyonce all the way down to Nicki Minaj. I think I found a pattern though: any combination of violin, piano and drum makes a song pretty good to me. I like to think that every song might be a soundtrack to a specific moment of someone's life.
- Movies: Cloud Atlas might be the one. Maybe it is a way too elaborated allegory to convey a simple concept: everything you do matters, if not for your life then surely for someone else's.
- Books: Candide, ou l'Optimisme by Voltaire. Less than 100 pages to explain that whoever holds an extreme position in any topic is very likely to be laughed at.
