About Me
Hi there! My name is Federico, I'm from Italy and I'm currently living in Kenya working with indigenous communities from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania around issues of land and human rights.
During the past few years I have been fortunate enough to be able to enjoy some traveling/living/moving around different countries including quite a bit of time in Latin America. 3 years ago I moved to Edinburgh where I got involved in a few different social and environmental movements and community-development projects, doing a bit of direct action organizing and community volunteering, while working as a support worker for kids with autism and additional needs. Last year with some friends we started a community mushroom cultivation project in Scotland to provide a space for exploring ecologically and socially sustainable ways of living through the incredible fungi kingdom! Our project is called Rhyze Mushrooms Edinburgh, check us out!
I would like to be part of that community of individuals, groups and organizations that engages in meaningful and constructive work, both locally and globally, to challenge systematic oppression, while exploring alternatives to the current dysfunctional and toxic society we live in.
In general, I'm a simple person. I see myself as very enthusiastic and energetic, always ready to learn and challenge what I know (or "think" I know) To be honest I just want to connect with people and share experiences, knowledge, skills and stories (a bit vague and simplistic, but hey often the simplest things are the most enriching!) :)
Un saluto
Take care
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that learning from other people, from their experiences, knowledge and skills is essential to grow not just as an individual, but as a member of community, of an interdependent network of people, that is investing in a better future. A future where life, in all its expressions, is nurtured and where opportunities for an uplifting existence are shared across our global community. Also staying with locals and meeting local people is fundamental not only to understand a place beyond the "tourist / sightseeing" perspective but also to integrate as much as possible wherever you go. Seriousness aside, I'm also here to have FUN! :)

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a really enthusiastic guy who pushes himself to keep learning and experiencing in any possible field. I'm really open and willing to challenge myself, my skills and my "ordinary reality" to expand my knowledge and abilities as a way to become a more well-rounded human being. I've some experience in permaculture and general farming/construction, but I'm currently looking for new ways to learn more about it. In general I think that my passion for social relationships has always helped me to connect fairly easily with people, looking for ways to learn from them and share experience, knowledge and respect with them.
