Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

"live life to the fullest!" is as paramount of a mission as shamefully clichè. But answering what "the fullest" actually means, is nowhere trivial...

ABOUT ME

Fede??
If you ask me he's a boring, unadaptable, never happy, average guy.

I surely hope that (finally!) through CS he'll meet some crazy, creative, sharp and kind people who'll show him how to live by the minute and make it worth.

That would wake him up!
I still haven't decided if I love more partying like there's no tomorrow or the chilled out talks you can have with a good glass of wine and smart people around. The only way to sort this issue out is to keep both 'em coming my way!

PHILOSOPHY

Sometimes you win
and sometimes you...
learn.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I simply want to meet people and visit places with the best attitude. All the good that comes from that is taken, the bad will build character.

I'll be glad to host you whenever I can, and take proud in showing my little corner of the world. Even Lonely Planet acknowledges Trieste's unique hidden beauty! (and New York Times) http://www.lonelyplanet.com/italy/friuli-venezia-giulia/trieste/travel-tips-and-articles/77017 http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/25/elegy-on-the-adriatic/?_r=0

The experience at my place can be very different according to my schedule for that day and on how well we get along with each other. Sometimes either you or me just don't have time: you surf the couch, get some tips on the things to see around here, a pat on the shoulder and hasta la vista.
Other times, and it happened more than once, we party like rock stars, have long chats on serious stuff, throw bullshits around, call each other names and maybe even become good friends.

Hey! Did I ask you to host me? Then I am excited because this means that I finally got time to travel once again and hopefully be amazed by places, discover different outlooks, give and receive positive vibes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After a few years of actively CSing I still feel I'm at nothing more than the very beginning. I had great expectations when I started, but those were clearly under-hyped compared with the rainbow of people you get to know by traveling the world this way.I have concerns about where the FOR PROFIT CS organization is heading. http://mechanicalbrain.wordpress.com/2013/03/20/couchsurfing-the-meltdown-continues/ http://www.quora.com/What-is-happening-to-Couchsurfing But the concept itself is beyond awesome! And if all falls with CS, there's already a valid alternative: www.bewelcome.org/members/fedevit Thank you to all the earthlings I hosted and the saviors I surfed with for the moments and laughs shared together.

Intereses

My lifelong love is sailing, I just thrill at being in contact with the elements. Apart from sailing, I practice as much as I can all kinds of sports: running, climbing, swimming, snowboarding, caving, rugby...On the other hand I get totally bored from watching sports being played by others.I have fun in cooking from time to time and my speciality is making up recipes and never being able to repeat them.Vegetarian since elementary school, but I have not the slightest interest in converting anyone. In fact I hold barbeques at my home with friends several times a year.As Simpsons taught us:"You don't win friends with salad"I love computer stuff and am a bit geeky. I made that into my studies and then into my job and till now it worked out pretty well.I am interested in all sorts of tech toys, do it yourself stuff, renewable energy, electric vehicles...When I happen to be bored and need inspiration I watch talks like this by Dan Pink.

All this nerdiness led to a job I've been enjoying since 2007 as expert on web marketing, new internet trends and in general the "new ideas guy" at www.ikon.it
In addition, since 2010 I'm also the co-founder of www.20km.info a website where you can find any event around you from the silly disco to the chess tournment. Right now we're covering just FVG in Italy, but we're planning to expand ...quickly
