CURRENT MISSION
No idea... just living the moment I think...
ABOUT ME
I am a big fan of music and am an avid book reader. I also love sampling food from all over the world! (so if you're staying with me or I'm staying with you... be prepared for a great dinner) I am looking to have some amazing experiences through couch surfing, teaching people the benefits of the São Paulo culture. I talk a lot (I speak Spanish, English Portuguese). I used to be a professor at University of Buenos Aires (where I lived) and I have also a 9-to-6 regular job. I'm someone who really enjoys meeting new people and dares to host complete strangers at his place... a small but warm apartment!
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe diem!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm excited to meet a whole bunch of open, interesting, fun-loving people through couch surfing... by hosting them! :-). Can you cook? Then you're welcome!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Long story short? a reference I gave and received in 2012
Me: How often do you have the chance to share your life with a couple of strangers for almost a month? Not too many. So when opportunity knocked my door, I answered. Glad I did. Scott & Tatiana are amazing people, football and stew lovers. They tried to teach me card games and to drink beer. I tried teaching them drink Fernet and Mate. We only succeeded on our first intentions. We shared great movie nights and even greater drinking nights (we saw more movies than drinks we had). They really helped me improve my English skills; Sorry I wasn't able to do the same with their Spanish ones. We had amazing Siga La Vaca stakes more than once. We did some city tour walking, including some photo shooting and leather shopping at Tigre Market. Amazingly, we left too many things undone, but maybe for next time (you never know…). It is said that when you travel you leave not only a trails but also some good memories. They sure did. Great to have'em, glad to repeat it. Totally recommended!
Them:Wow, look at all the people you have hosted! Tatiana and I were traveling to Buenos Aires on the end of our TransSouthAmerica journey. Fernando welcomed us and took us in as instant friends. He's an awesome dude and very knowledgeable especially about Argentina! We stayed with Fernando for our last month we had traveling and I wouldn't have spent it any other way. Salud!
In the end: I went to thei wedding in Vancouver, in August 2017 :-)
Interests
Well I have plenty of interests. Reading and listening to music are my favorites. I also like going out with my friends and co-workers and although I'm an awful dancer, I'm an excellent teacher (believe it or not).
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Queen, Classic rock (Stones, Beatles, Led Zepp), Argentinean Rock and other rhythms.
Books: Operacion Masacre, The Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood
Movies: Pulp Fiction, Back to the Future (all three of them), The Lord of the Rings (da movies), Inception and mainly all work from Christopher Nolan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done several amazing things... Bungee jumping in Salta (Argentina), rafting and para-gliding in Mendoza (Argentina) and I visited Jujuy, Tucuman, Neuquen, Córdoba, Misiones and Rio Negro Provinces (Argentina, of course). On a more funny way, I have almost lost a flight back home for partying longer than expected, spent the night in a hostel with 12 people in the same room, got drunk with completely strange people... among others. Amazing things for sure!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach how to play card (drinking) games, how to successfully overcome a job interview, how to cumbia dance in the appropriate way... But sincerely I'm strong in Political Sciences and Argentinean History (and some Latin American History as well). I also have a degree on The Simpsons and Friends ("We were on a break")
