About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding some good balance in my life, such as finding the place where I want to spend the rest of it

ABOUT ME

Well, I wish I could be able to take a piece of paper (or a laptop) and write down all about myself... I think I am a quite open person, still working on my own personality, trying to find out who I am, but I guess we all do the same...

PHILOSOPHY

I'm afraid it's too complex (or am I just too lazy?) to write this down here...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do enjoy being both a host and a guest!
I have travelled quite a lot, I hosted and was hosted by many fantastic people and met many more at different meetings or through other couchsurfers/friends.
Because of my job, I haven't been very active for the last year. But now I am settled again and trying to be "back" in order to meet some new fun people, both travelers and locals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had plenty of very good experiences! I was traveling with my boyfriend all around Iceland and Feroe-Islands for 5 weeks and most of the time we used couchsurfing. During our 5-month travel in Central-America we also met many nice couchsurfers and were hosted by great people! With some of our host we became quite good friends, went together to a festival or organized a weekend-tour together, or even spent christmas together... I was always moved how people helped us when we did not have a place to spend the night and how they welcomed us in their own homes. It should be just much more people like them in the world!
I think I am a good host myself, I am happy to host people at my place (when I am not traveling myself...) or if I am not able to do that, at least meet for a nice chat or show them around!

However, as couchsurfing is getting bigger and bigger, it seems like more and more people are signing up only to find a cheap way to travel and get a free accomodation, not caring about the rest. I have had some not so nice, even if not negative hosting experiences which I try to avoid in the future.
I understand that this financial side is important - I used to surf myself and of course, this is also one of my reasons to use couchsurfing, but not the main one!
So the general rules apply: please do not send me copy-paste messages or requests without showing any particular interest in staying at my place. These kind of requests will automathically be rejected.
Please tell me why you want to stay at my place. It is always nice for a host to see that you have read their profile :)

Interests

On the first place, of course, traveling... for me it's very important to get known other places, cultures, people, experience new things, to collect memories - that's the only thing that really belongs to me, memories can't be taken away...
I also like reading good books, eating good meals, drinking good drinks (just like hungarian wines or german/Belgian beer :), go swimming, hiking in the mountains and forests, laying in the sun, meeting friends and other usual things people like to do :)
My new big love is aerobics and fitness which gave me a new way of thinking about life and health and many things after completing a trainer course. Nowadays I even like running :)
But I am not interested in any kind of vehicles, mobile phones or watching football or other sports, so I am not good with talking about these subjects, sorry for that :) You may want to do that with my boyfriend though :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I generally don't like to watch too many moovies. But I have my favourites :)
Music: rock, metal, jazz, blues, very little from pop and electronic.
Authours and books: Irving Stone (Michelangelo, Lust for life), Ken Follett (Pillars of the earth), Lars Saaby Christiansen (Halvbroren, Beatleas), Dostoyevsky (Crime and punishment), Jostein Gaarder (The solitaire myster, The Diagnosis and other stories) Mária Szepes (The red lion), Péter Müller, Mór Jókai, Orwell, Gregory David Roberts (Shantaram), Magda Szabó - and so much more...
My new favourite is "Three cups of tea" - very inspiring!
