ABOUT ME
Having stayed half of my life in or near Oslo, I moved out of town. Far out. To Telemark, to a tiny, little village. Me and my wife expected baby, and had low income. We wanted to find a proper place to stay for one year, to sort things out. That was 24 years ago. Since then, two grown up boys have left their home, and we are still stuck here to sort things out.I work as a teacher at a college university in Telemark, a 50% post and extends my income by restoring furniture and write articles. Being half teacher-half journalist, I am pretty good in being curious (people, places, adventures) but in a respectful way. And I know where my limitations are when having private accomodation.
PHILOSOPHY
At our railway complaint office, angry customers meet the following saying in a nice sign: "It is the unplanned stops, side tracks and dead ends that enrich your life." I agree.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will think about it after my first experience.....Well. That was the first sentence I wrote.Since then I have had one years to plan a follow up sentence. Actually, I have spent my time on other thinking. But by impulse now, I would say that the philosophy attracts me. Meeting other people and being introduced to foreign cultures by travelling lowbudget is jy way of life. As far as possible, I will help other people to do the same
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
About 40 years ago, one of the first interrailers leaving Norway. Nice, but long time ago. The last two years a few more experiences are added. Everyone truly nice and inspiring.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Almost ten years ago, I did my bicycle test on Berlin. That is going by bike in the center of town, breaking any rules, turning left, right or stopping by impulse. To my suprise, berlin drivers had no problem of accepting my fickling behaviour. They stopped their car and stood still waiting for my next move.My salute to berliners who seems to be a very calm and tolerant people
Teach, Learn, Share
Being a former teacher maybe I have a few things to tell you about woodworking, furniture restoration, folk art, food etc
