About Me

People have used words like "firecracker," "spitfire," and "ignition" to describe me. I'm a caring, optimistic person, who also has a passion for social justice. I'm a member of the Yakama Nation and grew up on our reservation (Yes, Indigenous people still exist.). I am a recent Dartmouth College graduate (from the Rez to the Ivy League is quite the tale.) with a degree in Religion (concentration in the philosophy of religion) and a minor in Education & Human Development. I am heavily involved in organizing and activism in school and in my area. Most recently I spent six months at Standing Rock and am hoping to return to North Dakota and work for legal aid for Water Protectors. A lot has changed since I left the Rez, but one thing hasn't: I am still dirt poor with an interest in seeing the world and learning about all of the people in it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As stated, I'm both poor and unendingly curious. And when I am in a place, I love to live like a local and truly experience what the location has to offer. I want to meet people and see things and experience all there is to experience in the world. I want to hear as many stories as possible, and allow others to hear my stories as well. We are only as great as the experiences we share, and I would love to share an experience in your city with you!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not big on "favorites." It forces you to choose one of many things, and I like a lot of things.
Generally, I like nonfiction that makes you think, forces you to look at the world differently, and challenges the things you thought you knew. I like fiction that represent the struggles of people like me: Indigenous, Black, poor, queer, idealist, activist, adventurer. The more identities you can fit into a character, the better!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a lot of amazing things, starting with getting out of my hometown!
I think the most "recognizably" "amazing thing" I've done is going to the 2016 Democratic National Convention as a delegate for Bernie.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to think broader. I hope to learn how to listen more intently and not merely hear. And I would like to share and experience life with as many people as possible!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My real assets lie in my organizing ability: From a drawer to an entire company, let me know what's wrong, what you need, and how I can help. Though if it's drawer organizing, let's have a glass of wine first.
I can also share stories of worlds you've never experienced and perceptions you've never heard.
I'm also a pretty decent cook and love whipping up simple meals, especially for breakfast.
My hands are also at your service, should you need them to help build a house, paint a post, or hang a photo. I'm not the most physically artistic person (I spit fire, I don't paint it.), but I am able-bodied and can follow directions.
And if you're an activist or organizer, I will literally help you in anything you want/need to do to make your community a better place. That's what I'm all about!

Countries I’ve Visited
