About Me
A very long and complex story brought me to a small village on the outskirts of Salzburg. It has something to do with me being a dreamer and me being an overachiever striver as well :-) Maybe one day I will share this story with the world, who knows, or maybe I am going to tell some couchsurfer...
I have thousands of interests, and somehow my days go by without me even noticing them...gym, running, cycling, gardening, reading, writing, working (*sigh*).
Beside all this, I don't really know how to define or describe myself. I used to have many certainties, but this has changed. I have, indeed, a few strong opinions, but certainties? I wouldn't say.
I definitely care for education (general culture, basic grammar and skills for everybody; I would like to fight the increasing functional illiteracy I see among adults)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have a nice flat I wouldn't mind sharing a little bit more with the world; I am a chatty person and I can talk almost about everything :-)
Also, I sometimes travel, and being alone most of the time I wouldn't mind being a little more social sometimes. I am also always ready to relocate somewhere else, so having a network in other countries might make my next moves a little smoother than the ones I experienced before.
And...yes, of course saving some money when travelling is not so bad, let's be honest :-)
One last thing: PLEASE READ MY PROFILE carefully AND THE "MY HOME" SECTION before submitting a request. I really cannot host more than 1-2 people (moreover, 2 willing to share a couch) and I really cannot host children or pets, nor can I host people for a long time, and I seldom accept last-minute requests. It should be obvious from the above mentioned section and from the pics I posted. If you have such requests you should look at other profiles and I am sure there are people who are able to accommodate you. In general, please get used to carefully reading what a couchsurfer or hostel or hotel or pension offers, because we all have different requirements and no one can build a bigger room or deluxe suite overnight or whatever just to make you happy. Sorry to sound like an ass, but it is something that really bothers me: people asking for things one clearly does not even offer, basically wasting everybody's time and then maybe even getting angry or disappointed. Come on! Asking is completely fine if something is somehow not clear or if there is room for a mediation or an agreement, otherwise it is just a "I don't care to read" or a "I am not able to understand what I read" screamed into the other's face.

Music, Movies, and Books
All kind of music except rap, hip hop, Schlager, neomelodici.
I absolutely love metal (except metalcore and deathcore), rock, blues, jazz, uplifting/progressive trance, classical music (especially piano sonatas and stuff), most punk. I have seen about 20 times an Italian mock rock group named Elio e le Storie Tese and 13 times His Bobness (Bob Dylan), for example. I have been at concerts in the Salzburg Festival Hall (Festspiehaus). I worship Blind Guardian and Iron Maiden.
Wow, movies...I've seen and loved so many of them! I love historical movies, romantic comedies, I love the Back to the Future trilogy, LotR, Harry Potter (but the books are indeed better!), The Sound of Music (yeah, of course), the Don Camillo trilogy, Breakfast at Tiffany's, all possible WWI and WWII films, the first Scary Movies (after a while they became boring and repetitive), American History X, Animal House, The Blues Brothers.
Books: I read a lot of academic stuff, fantasy, historical novels; mostly, I follow blogs and read newspapers because that's what you do when you are exhausted. Books that really left me with a "wow": I Promessi Sposi, Pride and Prejudice, Lord of the Rings, Fever Pitch.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wouldn't say I've done amazing things. I met people who have done really amazing things, so I know I don't qualify.
Teach, Learn, Share
1) I can teach you how to screw up big (might be useful)
2) I can tell you what things you don't have to do if you don't want to screw up big
3)I can tell you nerdy stuff
4) I can tell you about history (1880-1945 mainly, mostly Northern Italy, Austria, Bavaria, but ask me and we will see )
5) I can teach you some Italian/English/German
What I Can Share with Hosts
Depending on my actual schedule, I could share many things, from some long chats about everything, a home party (when I come home from work or before heading to work) to a hike/ride, a visit to a museum, or to a night at the disco/at a concert. I can cook as well, usually Modenese cuisine or other Italian cuisines, or Austrian/Bavarian things.
I will be glad to share basically everything in my flat with you, but...I am always tight on money, Salzburg being an expensive city; therefore, if you have special requests, or if you need to do something that consumes resources and/or power in an extensive way, please be ready to make at least an offer to contribute to my bills to pay. I know this sounds a little against the rules, but there are things I simply cannot afford.
I have no television, because it's too expensive in Austria. I have an Ethernet internet connection and a few spare cables.
