About Me

Heyo!
My name is Felicity. 25. Australian.
I am an enthusiastic and friendly person who has that travel bug. I love learning new things and think that every new person has a wisdom to offer you if you're smart enough to listen for it..
I believe self-love is just as important as loving the people around you and that a positive mind is one of the most powerful assets someone can have.
I care for the environment, love animals, love music, good food and wine, and all kinds of art. Mix them all together and you got yourself a party I'd be interested in..
I have an interest in the way our bodies and brains work, am a novice at yoga and meditation but loving it, and generally enjoy keeping active and playing / watching sports.
I am confident but not in your face, sometimes quiet but not shy and more of a lover than a hater, yo.
I am currently in USA after just leaving the beautiful Europe, now looking to experience the American Dream (this seems like a good place to do it), all the while getting to explore some of the most interesting parts of the world. I prefer to take my time while seeing different countries and I look forward to getting the real experience..
Surround yourself with happy people and kill the others with kindness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling opportunities, to meet new people but most of all for the supreme comfort that a damn good couch gives..

Interests

Generally - outside in the sunshine near water that is swim-able in is a happy place for me..
I love a good mug that you need two hands to hold, especially when it's full of tea.
I get lost really easy so panic is something I grew out of a looooong time ago, things work themselves out :)
I can't stand cooked marshmallows or raw mushrooms, they can look very similar so it's sometimes hard not to confuse the two..
I'm also a really bad speller so the thing I love most about technology is auto correct.
I don't understand video games and am one of the few people who haven't read all the Harry Potter books, but I'm cool with not knowing it if you are. I'm also open to education if this seems unacceptable to you..
I love to dance and sing. I'm appalling at both but you know, practice makes perfect so fingers crossed!
I am super open to what you have to tell me..
Believer in energy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read and more than that I love music, especially when it's live. Music connects souls.
Currently reading: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green / The Light Been Oceans by M.L. Stedman
Currently can't stop listening to: Fat Freddy's Drop / Paul Kelly / 80's
Generally: indie folk, acoustic guitar, renditions, 80's rock ballads, dire straits, crowded house and the red hot chilli peppers..
Best movies: Shawshank Redemption, The Secret Life of Bee's, Tangled (I'm a child at heart). I also love a good Rom-Com and are guilty of indulging in trashy comedies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The trek to Ciudad Perdida (the lost city) in Colombia. Four days in thick humidity, covered in bug spay to avoid being eaten, zero technology - the time of my life in the most beautiful natural surroundings with 3 of my best friends, priceless.

More recently trekking the last 115km of the Camino de Santiago in Spain with a group of 30 breast cancer survivors and supporters to raise funds and awareness. The most inspiring and amazing women I have ever met.

That's two, if you'd believe it I was actually good at maths in school.. things have clearly deteriorated for me..

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Heaps good English.. I'm at least a 9/10 on the patience scale so that seems to help. And the best in Australian Slang (note: different to the common tongue of English).
Learn: Super keen to learn new languages, got a head start on some Spanish but hot diggity does it need some work..
Share: stories, any knowledge that I have stored in my kit, I'd even share my food - that's how much I care.
