About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to take my preconceived notions and fears by the hand and go forward into the world, eyes, ears and heart open

ABOUT ME

Child at heart, I learned to love the world in its endless variety as the child of a military family that moved often to places diverse: Japan, Germany, etc. Have lived last ten years in a sleepy coastal area nestled in the Panhandle of Florida called the Forgotten or Emerald Coast. Make my living serving locals and tourists at a lovely restaurant called The Owl Cafe-my home away from home for the last five years. A poetical romantic and political malcontent I seek all I have not known-vistas, voices....

PHILOSOPHY

Fortune favors the bold.
Check the ego: watch and listen.
Change is possible: start with yourself.
"You must do the thing you think you cannot do." Eleanor Roosevelt

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

New to this adventure and hoping for the most marvelous experiment results. I am heading out on a Big Irish Adventure late September and currently have no couch to offer. When it comes time to settle again, my door will be open.

Interests

Love the stories people have to tell...each one a universe in itself. Avid reader/listener; frustrated writer/teacher. Walking through the countryside with the wind in my face. Recognizing divinity in each soul I meet. Subverting the dominant paradigm.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently I have been enchanted by The Places In Between by Rory Stuart and the music of HEM. I am a sponge and my tastes run from the classical to the weird.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every moment and every step on Irish soil. Fell down the rabbit hole and may never emerge.
