About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Connect and make friends with people - including those from different regions of Brazil - who I can teach and learn something from.

ABOUT ME

27 year old Afro-brasileiro boy here, very interested in humanity, cultural exchanges, languages and very progressive in terms of politics. Even though I can be a little addicted to internet and social networks - I admit this - what I enjoy the most is meet people for real, so that I'm always open to it. I describe myself as a young dreamer boy, full of energy, and I know there's still a lot to do and see. Someone who really likes adventures, is really curious and eager to discover new things.

I've recently graduated in International Relations and now I teach languages, specially portuguese as foreign language ~ this is my main occupation at the moment. I'm very open to different cultures and languages, really open-minded and one of the things I love is diversity. For this reason I consider I'm blessed for living in a country that has so much to offer in terms of diversity.

Last but not least, gay or LGBT people in general are welcome. I have met lots of interesting people and I wish to meet even more. I'm trying to get back to couchsurfing and be more active as I used to be, so if you're visiting Rio and feel like meeting a local like me, going out to a bar to have a few drinks, walk around and get to know the city a little better, don't hesitate to get in contact. It'll be a pleasure to catch up and guide you some if our schedule matches.

PHILOSOPHY

Respect, kindness and tolerance.

I always say you should keep your actions in line with your beliefs, live your life to the fullest, and ultimately be happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a member for almost 2 years and so far I've met only wonderful people. I hope this trend won't change! I have mostly been a guest but haven't hosted yet, even though soon I hope to be able to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like different types of music including rock, pop, jazz, soul, some of latin music.
One movie I keep watching from time to time over and over: L'auberge espagnole. The mix of languages in this movie fascinates me and for that I highly recommend it.
Books, well, I confess I don't read novels much, and until I graduated I had just been fully involved with academic papers, hehe. I absolutely love history though, and any kind of writing that brings it to the reader holds my attention for sure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In November 2015 I decided to backpack for the very first time, which was a challenge for me, given I hadnt't travelled alone for so long. For 2 months I explored the northeast region of Brazil, from Pernambuco to Ceará. I have seen amazing places, explored delicious regional food, been to one of the biggest handcraft fair in the region, traveled from the countryside (literally in the middle of nowhere) to the city, enjoyed great wild beaches (and had the experience of being the only person around!), made good friends and at the end of the day, had a terrific couchsurfing expericence. That was an amazing experience and I'd not only do it all over again but I would also like to plan another backpack trip in a near future, hopefully.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Portuguese as well as what is related to Brazilian culture. I'd love to learn how to cook international dishes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, United States
