About Me

One could say I have one problem in my life: I like everything. I study Health, but I make music. I like to discuss, to understand, to ask, I like partying hard, but also staying at home to read. I do martial arts. I normally enjoy every possible social contact with anyone. I'm fascinated about a lot of things, particularly people. Poetry and music are an important part of my life. Traveling has to do with all that. For what I have been told, I'm easy-going and very sociable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love this one thing that happens when we travel: we change. We realize how silly our worries are, how big the world is, how interesting life can be. We see people thinking different than us, doing other things that we don't do, living their lives differently. We begin understanding how fascinating every individual can be, and that there are different possibilities of living our lives, rather than only those ones we thought there were or had been told there were. In the end, we let go of old misconceptions we had about a lot of things in life, and grow. And is this what will, ultimately, bring us closer to our happiness. I want that.
I believe there is much more behind the idea of couchsurfing than to just host or be hosted. It has to do with sharing ideas, confort, life. Has to do with allowing yourself to have contact with different people and points of view, and growing with them. It's a big thing, actually.

Interests

What I want is meeting the new. Meeting different people, making new friends, discussing ideas, understanding new points of view. Tasting new foods, going to new clubs, bars, places.
I love going out. Dancing. Partying. Or stay at home and talk. I love making music (I play the guitar!), or talking about music, or just listening to music. Trying out new things, new foods, new drinks. Exchanging life, experiences, ideas.
I like rad sports also, although I've tried few of them.
In the end, I believe every experience is valid, and my main goal is to grow with all that. When we understand more, we become more, and can come closer to finding peace.

Music, Movies, and Books

( that's gonna be hard to put into words...)
I listen to a lot of different music. I'm a fan of "music mining", that is, searching for different, non-mainstream music. Depending on my mood, I hear jazz (Rollins, Miles, Coltrane), Blues (Howling wolf, muddy), some eletronic music (specially minimal and deep house), some rock (specially the classic stuff and Post-rock). Sounds from different places are always great. I love Afrobeat, I know some music from china, from mongolia. This could go on and on. I guess the basic rule that I follow is: if the music is good, then it's good. This means that I like listening to anything, from Metal Rock to Samba.

About books: I read about a lot of varied stuff.
I like reading about the brain and the mind, books on meditation, focus, habits.
I have also been reading some books on vegetarianism...
I love the writers from the beat generation (Ginsberg, Kerouac)...
I always stop other things I'm reading to read some poetry. Basically Brasilian-portuguese poets. Currently I am reading Allain de Botton's "the art of travel", which is one fucking hell of a book, specially for couchsurfers

Movies:
I like documentaries and crazy movies. My favorites are "seven pounds", "Samsara", the ones from Kubrick. It's always hard to remember all of them...
Discussing about movies is always good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the Shaolin Temple in China

Teach, Learn, Share

As a brasilian, I love introducing people to my culture. Traditional foods, music (samba and bossa nova), drinks, the way of partying.
As for teaching, I can teach you some self-defense/kung fu, some cooking, how to play the guitar, how to meditate, how to dance samba. Also sharing opinions, experiences, beliefs, sorrows and joys and laughters and love.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always like to cook for hosts, do some drinks (Caipirinha!), do the dishes, maybe help with the cleaning. And, as always, share some thoughts, share some happiness.
