ABOUT ME

instagram: @valedasninfas

Hi! I'm Felipe and l have a permaculture project at the coast in Brazil. I'm living with my husband (Philipp, who was my first couchsurfer back in 2010!) and we love travelling and planting our own food. We also built our own house and offer dinner experiences in the forest :)

where I wanna go next: Iran, Turkey, Japan, China, Colombia, India.

PHILOSOPHY
I think everything has to be well-balanced, but sometimes things can just be crazy and off balance. I love big cities, but I also love the countryside. I care a lot more about people than about things and almost all I have fits in my backpack... well, except my books and cameras :P
I prefer long and cheap travels than the short ones. I love camping. I love hitchhiking. I love cycling and bus tours.

I laugh hard. I am a better listener than talker. I talk random stuff. I love philosophy and I have a crush on Foucault.

I do my best to be a good person, but being nice 100% of the time is not human, so I may be boring sometimes.

My favorite quote is:
"We must begin by frankly admitting that the first place in which to go looking for the world is not outside us but in ourselves. We are the world. In the deepest ground of our being we remain in metaphysical contact with the whole of that creation in which we are only small parts. Through our senses and our minds, our loves, needs, and desires, we are implicated, without possibility of evasion, in this world of matter and of men, of things and of persons, which not only affect us and change our lives but are also affected and changed by us. The question, then, is not to speculate about how we are to contact the world - as if we were somehow in outer space - but how to validate our relationship, give it a fully honest and human significance, and make it truly productive and worthwhile for our world" - MERTON, Thomas. Love and living. Please if you read my profile and wish to send me a couch request start your message with "bom dia, vinhado".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been on couchsurfing for some years now and from time to time this place gets a little bit more weird. Anyhow, I still like to host/surf-with people who are real travellers and have their minds open for another culture/people/place. Open minded people and those with no prejudices at all are always welcome! :)

Interests

Trekking, sunsets and sunrises, cooking, traditional music and food, arts and weird stuff.
I am very interested in hearing stories and having long conversations while drinking a coffee. I'm interested in many things so it's easy to start a conversation with me :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done:
Made 15 children scream "KABOOM" with me until our lungs give out, causing a pandemonium in the place.
Learned how to say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
9 months hitchhiking in South America.
Learned to ride a bike at 23 year-old!!
Reached the end of the world (Ushuaia, Argentina)
Camping at Laguna Miramar, in Chiapas, Mexico.
Travelled 4.500km by bike, from Germany to Greece
Started a permaculture project and built my own house (2021-).

I've seen:
A pressure cooker exploding.
An old man laughing uncontrollably.
Antigos beach and its uncountable fireflies dancing in the evening.
Carlos Birthday party in Jujuy.
Mountains at the southest part of the planet.
