About Me

I am a brazilian doctor who is both graduated in Medicine and International Affairs. Today I just practice Medicine in the city of Caxias do Sul, south Brazil, but I can sure say that these are my two passions: people and the world where we all live in.

I've been a Couchsurfing member since 2009, being really active until 2014 with both hosting and surfing. After 2014 and a really harsh decision, I've changed careers and therefore my whole life. I was studying in the capital city of Brazil Brasilia to become a Diplomat, but then I started thinking and meditating about some deep personal issues who made me turn back to an old dream of becoming a doctor. In 2016, after a year of hard studying, I entered medical school, graduating in January/2022 and since then acting as a doctor in Caxias do Sul. It's a big industrial city, with some interesting things to visit and to do in the city and its surroundings, being the wine and the nature my favorites ones.

During my time as a medicine student, I must confess that I had to give up traveling and surfing and couching for a while, with a little exception during my exchange semester abroad in Santiago de Compostela/Spain in 2019. Now, as I am graduated, I am slowly taking steps back into this world of Couchsurfing, which really brought me some great experiencies and, most of all, unforgettable friendships.

As I first stated in my first profile in 2009, I stil think that "I'm a very young person and I have a lifetime ahead of me!" (even if that was 14 years ago hahah!). Now, in 2023, I am not that young anymore, but I still know that I have a lifetime ahead of me, full of new learnings and knowledge, in addition to all the amazing experiences that I had so far. I consider myself an easy-going and open-minded person. I love to spend time with my family and my friends, being it at meals, parties or anything that brings everybody together! I love sports, being football and running my favorite ones, even though I have some bad knees due to some past injuries. I also have some hobbies, like playing the guitar or doing photographs, but one thing that really defines me is my passion for nature, so don't be surprised if I invite you to a day-trip hiking through the woods or some nice bathing in nearby waterfalls of my city. For me, being with nature is the closest we can be to the essence of ourselves, and that's one thing that really brings me happiness.

Well, so I guess this is what I can say about myself. All of my experiences in Brazil and abroad (USA, Germany and Spain) indeed opened up my horizons and made me realize once and for all that the more we do see, the less we do know, and that traveling is the only thing that you buy that really makes you richer!

And to end I keep the old and ever dream: to know the whole world - or the most part of it!

# A song about me #
"On bended knee is no way to be free
Lifting up an empty cup, I ask silently
All my destinations will accept the one that's me
So I can breathe...
Circles they grow and they swallow people whole
Half their lives, they say goodnight to wives they'll never know
A mind full of questions, and a teacher in my soul
And so it goes...
Don't come closer or I'll have to go
Holding me like gravity are places that pull
If ever there was someone to keep me at home
It wouldn't be you...
Everyone I come across, in cages they bought
They think of me and my wandering,
but I'm never what they thought
I've got my indignation, but I'm pure in all my thoughts
I'm alive...
Wind in my hair, I feel part of everywhere
Underneath my being is a road that disappeared
Late at night I hear the trees, they're singing with the dead
Overhead...
Leave it to me as I find a way to be
Consider me a satellite, forever orbiting
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me
Guaranteed..."

Be positive, be sure that your life is unique and worth for everyone, make new friends and keep olders around, live and love because 'tomorrow holds such better days'!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always try to do my best for Couchsurfing being not just an 'offering-for-a-free-place-to-sleep', but as a friendship maker and a generator of good moments - besides of being a great intercultural connector :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It is hard to choose between a lot of awesome moments, but I can tell is that: if weren't for the people with, these moments would never be so amazing! But, nevertheless, I will make a try:

1. Walking the Camino Primitivo de Santiago, Spain
2. Camping in the Big Surf and driving down the Highway One, California
3. Backpacking through countless cities in Europe (more than one time!)
4. Being a local for many years in Balneário Camboriu, one of the best spots for tourism in Brazil
5. Traveling through Morocco by bus with a large group of friends and camping in the nights of the Sahara Desert
6. Being able to see (almost) all of my favourite music bands in the world! Art is really important to me!
7. My both college experiences and all the fun and joy that it will always represents
8. My practice as a doctor. Somethings is really hard, but is always really grateful
9. Making new friends as times passes and also keeping the old ones closer and closer
10. My family still being with me, and all that is represents! (the last, but definetly not least!)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching, Living, Learning, Sharing - As an humane nature lover, I'`m very interested in talking and learning about our worlds issues nowadays, from the smallest aspects of human health to the broader deep world issues. I also like to spend most of my time learning about new things, such as Medicina, History, Culture, Economics, Movies, Music and Sports! Telling the truth, I get interested in every little thing, so I`m most likely prefer to share/learn in the same way! Sometimes I can talk too much too! haha

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever and whoever is around my Couch! It is just one simple guideline: make the most of your staying, future Surfer! It is everything yours!
