About Me
Hello,
I'm Felix and I graduated from high school in Oldenburg, Germany in 2021 and have traveled a lot ever since. After high school, I took the train to Georgia with two friends. Our plan: As far as we can get to the East in two months without a plane. We made stops in Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey and met a lot of nice people.
Afterwards I went to Spain to learn spanish because I wanted to do a voluntary year in Mexico. After working on different farms in Spain for 3 months, I traveled to Mexico in September 2022 for a volunteer work in Puebla. After working there half a year I traveled to Ecuador by hitchhiking cars and boats to help out on an ecological farm there. Right now I'm studying mecanical engineering with a focus on sustainability.
In my free time I like to do sports, such as: hiking, climbing, volleyball or jogging. I also enjoy reading books, playing board games and playing the piano or Just simply meet friends to hang out with them.
I'm new to couchsurfing but the concept isn't new to me as I've already couchsurft in Romania with a friend who has also an account.
I would be happy to meet nice people with whom you can spend a lot of time together and from whom you can learn a lot.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really like the concept behind Couchsurfing and that's why I'm already on sites like WWOOF or Workaway. I think it's a very good idea, because it allows those who don't have that much money to travel, and you also get direct contact with the local population (this also gives you an insight into the way of life and traditions), is in exchange, receives possibly insider knowledge about good bars, restaurants, parks, hiking routes, etc. and it enables spontaneous traveling alone and still always being in contact with people.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe that I walk the Way of St. James with my father and my sister. We started 10 years ago in Oldenburg (my hometown) and walked a few stages during the vacations whenever we found time. At first we just wanted to visit relatives, but when we finally arrived in Geneva, we decided to walk the Way of Saint James from now on. So far we have only made it as far as Hendaya on the Spanish-French border (Roughly 3000km so far). But in April we will continue again and who knows, maybe someday we will reach Santiago.
Teach, Learn, Share
Of course, I can help anyone who wants to learn German. I would also be happy to learn new languages (especially improving my English and Spanish).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Nice cooking together or help around the house while I'm there. Maybe teach some German if you're interested, or improve each other's English through exciting conversations. Good company, teach games (card or board games) and tell about travels.
