About Me

Hi :)
I am Felix and I love travelling the world and getting to know new people, are you one of them? :)
I am 27 and currently living in Berlin (can host people again from August on).
Learning languages is a big passion of mine, as is making music, going to the cinema, learning about history and philosophy and getting lost in conversations at 3:00 AM.
Respect and thoughtfulness are very important to me. Your house, your rules! I belive everything can be negotiated and communication is key.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Growing up, travelling for me meant family vacation in all-inclusive (or half-inclusive?) hotels, spending the days on the beach with the family and the nights in the room with the family. Nothing wrong with that but the older I got the more bored I got of the concept. What if there is a chance to broaden your horizon, meet new people (and get to actually know them) and in fact save money while doing all that? It's a win-win.
Getting immersed in real life, making friendships, offering help and accomodation and gaining experience and stories :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am always catching up with the latest film, not only due to my work but also because I enjoy film so much in private life. I love going to film festivals. My favorite directors among others are: David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Charlie Kaufman & Yorgos Lanthimos.
Max Frisch and Susan Orlean are two of my favorite writers, almost nothing compares to a stormy, dark afternoon inside with a hot tea on the table and a book in my hands :)
Of course I could not imagine a life without music, nowadays it's primarily punk and 50s & 60s country, but its been metal, hardcore, dnb, indie in the past and my preferences change over time. I play guitar and would enjoy a little jamming session if you also play an instrument (but be aware, I am terrible at jamming)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was spending a few days in a horrible 2-room hostel with the worst possible rooms and, being big on hygene, bathrooms. I was so disgusted, home-sick and tired from my travels and just did not feel comfortbale at all but there were not other possibilities. The people I met there, shared pain is half the pain I guess, were so kind and friendly and most welcoming of each other that the nights we spent together are some of my happiest nights that I had. The right people make you forget all the obstacles and problems.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always happy to learn and of course in return share a few new (swear) words in another language. If I have time I like showing people around, cooking (vegan, I promise, you will like it) with them or just deep dive into conversations. You want to keep to yourself, need to get up early the next morning or just exhausted and want to sleep? I get it, I will be as silent and considerate as possible, and hope you are too :)
Want to learn a few chords on the guitar? I'll do my best.
