Hi!
It is a long time since I created an account on Couchsurfing without really using it. I don't know why? Maybe because my first travels were in some countries were it is easy to find a cheap room (Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand...).

Since 2017 I am travelling in Canada and US doing some volunteering by WWOOfing, Workaway and helpX platforms. A very good way to share time with people from the country and to meet also other travellers. The deal is to work for them few hours per day and have food and bed in exchange. We... Ho yes I forgot to say that I am not alone travelling. Aline my girlfriend and Rocky, a small and cool dog, are sharing this trip in Americas together. So together we have done 8 different volunteering in Canada from the West to the East Coast. And between those warm places we were living in the Big Bertha, a Camper van.

The tree of us made made 40'000 km with our van from Québec to Vancouver, the Rockiers, Alaska, Yukon, New York, Seattle... A fantastic experience where we were free to go anywhere at anytime. The trip in Yukon/Alaska was especially amazing. That's where we met the real nature like the REAL one that you don't really find in so many place in the world.

Now we are going to go in Latin America February 2019. Mexico and the Yucatan is going to be our first stop and then our exciting options are Cuba, Guatemala, Belize. For this trip we would like to travel backpack and Couchsurfing would be a good option to meet people and find a bed!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We always enjoy to meet people and see what is the real life. Not the fake one of a hotel. Share talks, food, drinks, moments, that's what we like when we are travelling.

WWoofing, Workaway, Airbnb are different networks that we used a lot. And now we would like to meet people from Couchsurfing :)

Interests

Félix likes to cook. French cuisine, italian and international. He will always find a way to cook something with what he can get. Aline being vegetarian and sometimes close vegan, Félix has discovered new receipes that both of us are able to eat. Experienced also gluten free and lactose free food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Aline is definitely more ROCK. But not only. The Doors, Rival Sons, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, The Black Keys, Patti Smith, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Lana Del Rey, Agnes Obel, 16 Horsepower and more...
Félix is more Hip-hop, Reggae, DUB, techno/minimal. He is very open mind : style is not important, there is good music in every style (and shit too).
We both have been to many festivals and concerts in Switzerland and around the world. Montreux Jazz, Ozora, Paleo, Eurockéennes de Belfort, Electric Love Festival are some of them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Aline knows animals very well (horses, dogs) and provide you some good tips. She is interested about animals in general and music.
Félix works as a teacher and can help you to improve your french. Or with your kids. And if you don't care about french and don't have kid, let's have some beers :)

We have a lot of WWOOfing and Workaway experiences in Canada and we have now good skills in general maintenance, gardening, animal care

What I Can Share with Hosts

Depends what the host would like to offer. If he wants to share, we are open to have a good talks, a good meal (Félix likes to cook!). A good time! But if he is tired or has no time, that's not a problem. We are flexible.
