Hey guys,
I am a German student, born in the northern part of Germany and currently I study history at the Free University in Berlin. Years ago I used to live in the northern part of German on the Baltic coast. But after my BA in 2012 I moved to Berlin having a great life there in one of the most beautiful cities of the world. I nearly finished my studies, but I try to travel whenever I can (afford it). I like journeys where you can meet local people, which provide you an insight into their way of life.
Since January 2015 I moved to Washington D.C. wo do an internship at the German Historical Institute. This will only last until the end of March...so after this: Travel time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since my time here in DC are the most expensive months I ever had in my life, I want to avoid expensive hotels for staying. Most of them just want your money and offer almost. I think that couchsurfing can provide many things and impressions, hotels and even hostels could never feature. I like to get in contact with people from (maybe) different backgrounds and so the talks, activities and the cultural exchange will be more deeper and "real" than at a hostel, where the persons come and go.
I also like the exciting idea of getting involved into local things so quickly, probably have the chance to get a tour around the area and in return to offer the same to other people. I love to learn about new things, about cultures and also to improve my language skills. It's a shame that I already forgot how to speak French and most of my Spanish...so maybe it will be possible to refresh it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to music whenever and wherever i can. Jazz (Hardbob, Bebop, Latin), Bossa Nova, Stoner-, Hard-, Psychedelic-Rock, Dream-Electronic-Surf-Indie-Pop-Rock...omg those genres are impossible to count. I wouldn't say that music leads or rules my life, but it is a huge constant of it and playing guitar is a big hobby of mine since 10 years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Me as a totally unexperienced mountaineer climbed with some friends on nearly 4000 meters in Kyrgyztan while having no orientation...so we finally made it and it was a great adventure.

I can show you how to play guitar.
I really would like to cook together since I started my passion for cooking in Berlin. Most important thing is the society while cooking and eating. The meal is also important but it wouldn't taste so good if there weren't some good friends around you.
I would like to improve my surf "skills" and my English, which is ok, but the people tend to ignore my mistakes ;-)
