Hey there!

At the moment I am travelling the world together with my lovely girlfriend Lisa. Before our trip we were based in Vienna (Austria). She was working as a teacher and I was busy with finishing my university degree and worked in HR. We are really happy that we could manage to escape serious life now and enjoy everything this beautiful planet has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my opinion is to stay with locals one of the best ways to experience the culture of a foreign country. The different stories and point of views of the people all over the world are fascinating me and help me to reflect my own culture. Apart from that, it is simply great fun! :-)

Interests

Of course, travelling is my biggest passion, like everyones here in this community.
Furthermore I like to go hiking, cycling (mountainbike), climbing, skiing. More or less the activities who are stereotypical for austrians....

In addition I love to cook, go to concerts or other cultural performances (poetry slams, exhibitions, theatre) and if I have enough time (normally when I am travelling) I enjoy a good book as well.

But in the end, all of these above mentioned things are not as half as fun without music (especially concerts, haha).

Music, Movies, and Books

I like nearly every kind of music, except this mainstream radio lalalablabla... From 60s Rock N Roll via 90s HipHop to serious bassline business.... it strongly depends on my mood and of course on the day/nighttime...

Movies .... I have a huge DVD collection at home with all kind of movies from absolute trashy shit to arthouse.... Some of my favourites are Blow, Sleepers, The Shawshank Redemption, Inside Man and some austrian movies... One of my favourite actors is Johnny Depp, but I hate the pirates of the caribbean ;-)

My favourite author is Wolf Haas. You probably don't know him, because he is from Austria...
In gerneral I prefer austrian literature. Maybe one reason for it is, that I am reading the most when I am travelling, and there it is always nice to have a little piece of something from home with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped from a boat at night to swim with bioluminescence plankton.

Saw the milkyway at a loneley beach, while turtles buried their eggs next to me.

Scubadiving in Sipadan/Borneo with loads of sharks, turtles and huge schools of fisches.
