Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

although i have accidentally verified myself in würzburg and am not able to change that at the moment, i'll be living there not before december 1st. for now i stay at friends' in kraków :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

some, but until now only during my erasmus-year in salamanca or while visiting friends spending theirs'.

Interests

i'm a bit of a child: i can get into rather a lot. so a few weeks ago i spent hours getting to know all about the graphic-novel-/comic-sequel rex mundi, but since i finished reading i'm done with that...for now i'm occupied with experiencing kraków ;).

Music, Movies, and Books

movies:
frankly speaking i'm watching movies without special preferences. from classics like breakfast at tiffany's or rocky and sequels like lord of the rings or harry potter to trash like el mariachi or machete i found many movies I really enjoyed.

books:
i enjoy reading very much - especially while travelling. siddharta, faust, dorian gray as well as dr jekyll and mr hyde were fascinating travelling companions. taking a look (sometimes many more) into he worlds of tolkien, gabriel garcía márquez (i really liked his books), karel capek (war with the newts is my favourite) and j.k. rowling have been a ever-welcome change to everyday stuff - especially during school&university lessons. i accompanied amos oz to the suicide of his mother, was shocked about the clutter murders in capote's in cold blood and really sympathised with athos, porthos, aramis and d'artagnan while travelling to paris by train...

music:
that's my weak spot. i'm really not an expert on music listening mainly to old stuff by ella fitzgerald, louis armstrong, johnny cash and frank sinatra. and to stuff by the beatles. even classics or film scores. there was a time when i really enjoyed alternative and indie music...so: in general, i think i'm open and convincable - and currently convinced by morsza records from budapest and kraków - i really liked your concert in the massolit bookstore, guys!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

when i visited paris helena (my host) and i spent one night partying at an electronic music festival. when the sun was rising and we were on our way back to her flat, helena spontaneously persuaded me to go to notre dame when it opens it's gates at about 8 o'clock. the both of us are not seriously religious and i guess we simply wanted to be the first people in there. but as we walked to the cathedral with no one in front of it, it's façade presenting itself just to the both of us in all it's richness and old dignity, and as we went in there being completely alone, watching the sunrise through the colourful rose window...i do not know if it was the alcohol or the lack of sleep, but it was like we were dreaming. we were overwhelmed by a strange feeling of fascination, happiness, respect, awe and i do not know what else at the same time. i think the both of us will remember this moment for a pretty long while...
