Hey guys,
it's been some years since I last couchsurfed or hosted and I miss it. I have to update my profile a bit i guess. Time flies.
I am currently in Sardegna camping with 20 friends for two weeks and i brought my folding bike which I will then use to explore the island of Sicily for the first time. i always wanted to travel there and now i have the opportunity to. Looking forward to some quiet me-time in nature but also i am keen to improve my italian language skills, eat some delicious italian pastries, pasta and pizza (who doesn't appreciate that culture), to drink 173 espressos fueling my cycling and enjoying some sunrises and sunsets. So if you wanna be part of the trip i'd be happy to meet, hang out, have dinner, make pyjama parties or go out together. I also like to be around kids, dogs, cats or grandparents. I'm at a really good time of my life, 30 years old now and just quit my job as a psychiatrist for a break from madness of working fulltime in a clinic. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Right now I just surf, I used to host quite a bit back in my study days.

I've surfed halfway around the world and got to know so many people from different countries by hosting, so I would consider myself pretty experienced, but I must say that almost all experience were positive. I quit couchsurfing around 2018 because it was getting commercial and people just wanted to crash at my place instead of a hotel, giving it another try in 2024 on my solo travel in sicily. I still like the concept.

Interests

I love music, listening to music, making music. I play the trumpet, some guitar and piano and I'd love to make some music. I collect vinyls, mainly jazz, but also some random music

I try to do a lot of sport to balance out the mainly mental work of my job, so I go out for a run, play soccer or tennis with my friends and i love inline skating.
My mental health is very important to me. I try to stay balanced through meditation, meditative activities (for me it‘s definely playing the piano). As a psychiatrist I know that it’s very important to take care of your head and to not get overwhelmed by rational thoughts.

I'm a very social person, so I like to do all the things with my friends or good company, for example bike tours, icecream or hiking.

When i travel I mostly just pack my backpack, sometimes with tent and sleeping bag and try to get a good picture of other places by balancing out nature, urban experiences and culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mainly into jazzy vibes, from old school greats like Chet Baker and Miles Davis to contemporary artists. Also listening to a lot of ambient/experimental stuff, but mostly soft and groovy. You can listen to my very own music on SoundCloud (@felixtrompeta).

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very passionate about food. Lets go out to eat, cook something together. Food is an amazing social glue.
Apart from eating I love to share a cold beer, a good glass of wine, go to concerts, hang out in the park, do some sports, just spending time together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in a house with a garden, little bit outside of cologne with 5 other people. Everything is there.
