About Me

###
Please read the "My Home" section before sending me a couch request.
###

Some would use the word crazy. And maybe they're right. I just really don't take myself too seriously. I love to make fun of myself and mess around with others. People are SO serious (look at their faces when you see them in the streets/subway). Come ooon!

Also I can be described as a really active, communicative and loud person. I am pretty bold quite often. Carpe diem, carpe noche and be happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it's awesome in so many ways. From a very economic perspective, it bridges inefficiencies in the market. From a cultural perspective, it broadens horizons. From a social perspective, it allows me to meet new (usually open-minded and friendly) people. From a geek perspective, it demonstrates how technology can change the world.

So far, I have only had good experiences with Couchsurfing. I surfed across North America while living in the US for half a year. Had a great start surfing in Miami, Toronto, Detroit & Chicago. Then did a roadtrip covering 13 states, staying with 9 different couchsurfing hosts, who made this vacation a unique experience! I'm grateful, and have started hosting people in Stuttgart, which is an equally nice experience.

Interests

Food. In two regards:
1. Learn what the world is eating (if I visit a place, I will always try to taste the local food).
2. Understand the impact of our food consumption (this includes thinking about a vegan lifestyle).

Besides that I am interested in many things. Things I actually find time for include sports (I like beachvolleyball, tennis, yoga, soccer), clubbing, hanging out with friends in the park and from time to time going to some art exhibition/museum. What I would like to find more time for is music, as in going to a classic concert. Also I want to learn playing the guitar before I turn 30. I am thinking about taking some singing lessons. Just because I REALLY like to sing - but people keep telling me that I am an awful singer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Chinese wall: maybe a standard listing in this category, but it is just really fascinating.
- Living in the Netherlands for half a year: I just had a really good time, learned to love the Dutch and their culture.
- Went to a rave in Chicago, the hometown of House music, and saw the sunrise on a rooftop while others where doing Yoga. Awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

- If you ever get to Berlin, check out abandonedberlin.com: explanations how to get to, and into abandoned buildings in and around Berlin
- You can save Google Maps for offline use - I think it's handy!
