About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep on rollin' baby, you know what time it is! ;)

ABOUT ME

I am a communicative and open-minded person who likes to get in contact with other people and cultures and to pratice my language a lot by using it :). Therefore I decided to join the CS community. My past trips to Sweden and the U.S. were made really unique by CS, surfing non-stop for almost 4 weeks while traveling through Florida, D.C and NYC. I am used to manage my little household at home, so I am a tidy person.

Furthermore I am on a gluten free diet and need to pay special attention to my food, since I am a coeliac. If you already know about it, I am lucky. If not, don't worry...you do not need to do anything special ;)

PHILOSOPHY

My answer whenever someone tells me that I talk too much (which happens from time to time):

Better to walk through life talking and experiencing, than to stand by silently.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I participated more in the surfing part and am still catching up in the hosting ;) There are a lot of things I could say now about CS, but to keep it short: it's really awesome what wonderful people you meet with CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first real CS experience on my trip to NYC, Washington DC and the following roadtrip down in Florida in November and December 2013. I managed to surf for 3 1/2 weeks, meeting many different people, all unique and interesting in their own way. It's amazing how sharing ideas and experiences can influence your way of seeing the things in the world.

Since then I did some hosting at home in my study town Karlsruhe and during my semester abroad in Trondheim, Norway, which was always fun (I mean what kind of guy doesn't like to have 4 girls in his flat :D...just kidding). CS also helped me out during a city trip through Norway and brought my friends and me in contact with some lovely and interesting people.

In 2015 I travelled with a friend by bike from Poland over Slovakia and Austria back to Germany. Wherever possible we surfed on various couches and got in contact with many different locals. Especially in Poland and Slovakia, where our language skills are basically non-existent, we realized once more the helpfulness and openess of the CS community by helping us out with a lot of organizational stuff!

Interests

I am a very athletic person, who does a lot things, including biking, running, swimming, strength training, playing various ball games (volleyball, football, handball), hiking etc. I also like reading and watching all kinds of movies. Of course I also like to go out with people, having a drink or making party or just having fun.
As I am very open-minded and communicative, I also like to talk to people from various cultures to get to know their points of view.

Music, Movies, and Books

This list would be nearly endless, as I am a real book freak, like to listen to really all kinds of music (there's no music I would not at least try to listen to :) ) and absolutely love good films (not necessarily famous ones...it just must have something special about it).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The "CRAZY CABIN" trip (Norway, Trollheimen, 70 something km in 2 1/2 days)

and many other crazy stuff ;) If you are curious, you will probably have to host/surf with me to get the stories :D

Teach, Learn, Share

There a hundreds of things in the world, which are worthy learning...so I gladly will take every chance to learn something new ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Depends on what you wanna learn:

I can definitely tell you more about gluten-free food and how to prepare a perfect gluten-free meal, which is (surprisingly for some folk) easier than it seems, if you know what to do.

I can answer questions regarding German, if you are learning German and wanna improve it.

Well and there's quite a lot of other stuff (history, engineering knowledge, ...) that usually just pops up in my mind, if we somehow come close to a topic. So a nice conversation usually yields some interesting facts for both sides in the end :)
