Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
Broaden my horizon a bit more every day
ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Femke, a real Dutchie and even living in The Netherlands again nowadays. The last years I spent abroad, working in Sydney (Australia) and Sevilla (Spain). I earned my money writing and filming for European media, and teaching English at times.
I graduated uni twice: as a journalist and then a marketing manager. Love to write, enjoy learning things from people and am very curious. I'm an entrepreneur, mostly in marketing and media, and am never sure what I'll be doing tomorrow!
PHILOSOPHY
Listen to the Sunscreen song by Baz Luhrmann! And...
- If you don't know where you're going, you'll always get there
- Work like you don't need the money
Love like you've never been hurt
Dance like nobody's watching
Live each day like it's your last

Intereses
A lot: besides traveling also reading, music (playing and listening), cooking, sports (dancing, tennis, running, hockey), politics, art (fine arts, theatre, comedy, dance - but nothing all too contemporary), culture, party'ing, writing, learning new things and just being with nice people and doing crazy things.

Música, películas y libros
Any music, really. I've got a collection of records varying from Jimi Hendrix to Edvard Grieg.
Movies: The Green Mile, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem for a Dream, Magnolia & all the silly chick flick stuff... works out great on girls nights. Heaps of classics I haven't seen yet - shame on me, but bring them on!
Books: Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite (Arden), Perfume (Suskind), Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (Safran Foer), The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Kundera), 1984 (Orwell), all novels by Kinsella...
Algo increíble que he hecho
Oeh, I feel so lucky that I actually have to think about which best thing to list here!! Working in the South African townships was really amazing: incredible how much faith people there still have, despite how bad their situation is. Other than that, riding a motorbike through rural areas and mountains of Laos. And the Tongariro Alpine Trek in New Zealand. Wow.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I'm studying Spanish and guitar at the moment, so whoever can give me a hand with that is welcome!
I can teach:
- How to get rid of a speeding ticket in a foreign country
- Dutch - not just 'neuken in de keuken'
- How to touch your nose with the tip of your tongue
- Everything about tricky politics and nasty politicians, and how to handle them
- How to prepare a random Indonesian/Cambodian/Dutch/Australian/Spanish meal
-The 'secrets' of filming, making radio or writing
- How to entertain kids for hours with silly games and random fun
- How to dance the Macarena - just in case you have forgotten
Always keen to learn new original skills!
