About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To adventure and shenanigan as much as possible while I try to decide what to do with my life
ABOUT ME
I'm a very active and adventurous person, I try to expand my horizons at every opportunity. During the summers I lifeguard at the beach in San Diego. Some days it is the most boring job in the world; but other days it's the most exciting and rewarding job in the world, and those are the days that I live for. I love helping people, I love the smile on a strangers face when a random act of kindness (or weirdness) takes them by surprise. I usually always have a smile on my face and I love to laugh and be silly with anyone who will join in.
I love sports: playing & watching. I grew up playing softball and basketball, then switched to water polo and swim team in high school. Now I love to run on the beach, I attempt to surf, go for open water swims, hike -basically anything outdoors that involves moving around. I love camping, fishing, and off-roading (I drive a jeep wrangler). I recently took a cliff rescue class and became SCUBA certified, I just completed a winter race series for surfskiing (2011) and just took up learning 6 man outrigger canoe! I'm racing for the San Diego Outrigger Canoe Club novice team! woop woop
I have an artistic side. I love theatre and concerts. I enjoy arts and crafts. I scrapbook and make pretty amazing cards (so I'm told). I took a photography class but I need to bust out my camera more often. I also love to bake, I don't think it's art, but it sure is yummy.
I like to be spontaneous and I get distracted easily, so I tend to dabble into a lot of different things. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none. I was always good at school but I wouldn't call myself an intellectual. I think most subjects are fascinating and then as soon as I've learned about them I forget all the details and say, 'oh yeah, I remember learning about that.'
I'm really bad at lying; sometimes I make up elaborate excuses or stories in my head, but I always end up saying the truth out-loud. When I don't know what to do or if I feel slightly awkward I tend to make strange faces. I'm bad at hiding my feelings. I'm very sentimental; I cry during movies and while reading books - sappy, I know.
I'm a morning person & I believe I am solar powered - my energy rises and falls with the sun. I also believe in the healing powers of the ocean, it is my best friend, I try to visit at least once a day and I miss it when I am away. My hands and toes are always cold. I love caffeine infused beverages of the cafe & tea variety, I could eat chocolate all day long. I love dogs. I tend to wear shorts, flip flops, hooded sweatshirts and cheap sunglasses everyday (when in Cali). I feel naked if i'm not wearing a wrist watch. I bite my fingernails and I hate ketchup.
I love roller coasters and things that go fast. At the top of my to do list is go sky diving. I'm a country girl at heart and love my cowboy boots and going to the rodeo. I sing obnoxiously loud to the radio while driving with the windows down. I have an older sister and a younger brother who both still live with my parents. Sometimes I'm bad at making decisions for what to do. My friends and I like to play the game: what do you want to do? I dunno what do you want to do? and so on and so on. But somehow I always find something entertaining to do. I love to go out for a night of dancing with my girl friends, if you put a guy next to me I instantly become awkward. I enjoy interesting quotes, brain teasers, jigsaw puzzles, board games and random shenanigans.
If there is anything else you want to know or need clarified b/c of my rambling send me a message!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love movies - all genres, but I don't really watch films more than once or twice. I adore 'chick flicks' <3 and action/adventure/crime/war
My music tastes tend to favor country music, it's what I grew up on. I also enjoy rock/ alternative/ pop/ R&B/ indie.
I LOVE reading. I prefer fiction b/c I love to get lost in a story. I hate to take life too seriously and I'm still not over being "forced" to read in college. I recently indulged in the Twilight Saga after taking the 12 year old I babysit to see New Moon in the cinema. But I moved on to some of the popular classics and am trying to conquer a list of '100 must reads in your lifetime' that I found on the internet. I also absolutely love the zany adventures of Stephanie Plum in Janet Evanovich's book series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I circumnavigated the globe in 110 days on a smallish cruise ship as a study abroad program for my last semester of university. We took classes on the ship and had free time in the 12 countries we ported in - I never learned so much in all my years of formal education, and I'm not talking about the on ship classes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll introduce you to one of my best friends, the Pacific Ocean. If you're afraid we can build a sandcastle =D
or if the weather is not playing nice we can bake or have arts and crafts time.
