Rock, jazz and swing, rap and another music styles, I think I open myself more to different genres each year. Cinema and videogame soundtracks are saviours while working at something or just thinking. I have an addiction to Snarky Puppy and Banda Magda lately.

Classic cinema. Fritz Lang, Bertolucci, David Lynch, Akira Kurosawa, Hayao Miyazaki, Wong Kar-Wai, François Truffaut, etc., etc. One of my film references nowadays is The Motorcycle Diaries.
