Ahoy! Fer here!! a Uruguayan of Portuguese origins with a bit of an English heart and a passion for the sea.

I love meeting people and experiencing the local culture firsthand. I enjoy good meaningful conversations...they enhance every trip and often forge long lasting friendships. This is why I am blessed with amazing friends all over the world. And I really think I owe it to my lovely and numerous family, who by caring carefully passes on the torch of kindness and respect.

I am passionate about living life and I have an insatiable thirst for learning. Imagine…I started cabinet making one day and two years in I won a Bespoke GuildMark in the UK(you may ask but what is that? Aaaah pretty big deal for cabinet makers my friend, hahaha do check it out). Then About a year and a half ago I started sailing …by now I have gone more than ten thousand nautical miles. Aye! I go heart and soul into whatever I do.

I am respectful and willing to contribute in any way I can during my stay, and share some memorable moments together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because this community is one to connect, trust, help and share, and these actions make the world a much better place. I'm new to this community but I have been on some sort of word of mouth couch surfing style for years through friends and family. Now I try this platform to meet more people, hear more stories, make more beautiful moments happen and forge new friendships for life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now listening to Afterclapp, Capintan de Areia. All time fav band Led Zep. and one of the best concerts I saw was Tinariwen in a little basement in the middle of Kendal, Cumbria UK, so surreal!

A movie that comes to my head... Oldboy. Tbh I have a really bad memory for movies. Sorry hehehe

Books ooooh so many but The omnivore’s dilemma was an eye opener to how important it is to vote with our fork! I listen to a lot of audiobooks whilst carving wood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I woke up one day wanting to learnt how to sail, I grabbed my surfboard and paddled towards the first boat I saw then crossed the ocean twice

I can teach Spanish, marquetry and carving, and I love to learn literally anything (specially more sailing!)
