Overview
About Me
My name's Ferdinand, but most people call me Ferdi. I'm half German, half British, but I come from a pretty mixed background. I was born in Cologne and grew up in London and Budapest! I recently finished my studies and am currently travelling around the world while working on some startup ventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I always like to differentiate between travel and tourism. I love to travel, explore new places, immerse myself in the culture, and get to know the locals. I think that Couchsurfing is the perfect way to save money and experience the place you're visiting in a very real way. I also love meeting new people and making new friends, which makes Couchsurfing even more appealing.
Interests
I've been playing guitar for 15 years and love playing and listening to music. I also love writing, especially short stories, poems, etc. I am very interested in politics and current affairs.
My biggest passion is travelling. I've travelled to over 40 countries and have many things on my bucket list that still need ticking off.

I can't say I've done anything amazing, but I've experienced some pretty amazing stuff. In 2012 I went on a trekking and volunteering trip to the Himalayas in India. I attended 3 days of teachings by the Dalai Lama and even got to meet him and get a blessing from him.
