About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I have no mission.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Berlin. I've been studying mathematics for about four years now and will be finished in two more years or so.
Last year I applied at a University in Bogota but somewhere in the process missed a deadline - so I've decided to finish my studies in Berlin and am thinking about going to Bogota afterwards.

I am honest and easy to handle. Even under stress I manage to keep calm and focus on the important.
Friends know they can call me when they want to spend a nice evening with some beer, wine, laughter or without reason.
Regularly I need to get out dancing somewhere. It's more like enjoying the music than partying.

I like to discover new places. I am very curious. Sometimes I can be a very quiet person and can spend time by myself. Yet, I enjoy interesting conversations and like to listen to what people tell. Actually, I believe I often rather listen than talk - not sure.

During Holidays I try to get to places in nature - I am amazed everytime.

Together with some friends we lease a small place just outside Berlin, little hut with a garden, where we grow vegetables and release our fantasy and energy in renovating and shaping the place.

PHILOSOPHY

Ask the question: 'Is it really like this?'
Everything changes.
Someday I die.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far none by myself. Only second-hand.

Interests

Cinema. Watching the movies as well as learning about the production of a movie. The craftsmanship. I prefer watching movies by myself but never refuse good company.

Photography. Going to exhibitions when I don't forget to. Taking pictures. During walks in the city or industrial areas.

I am very interested in the ongoing change in South American politics.

Indoor climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
When I was younger I read anything from Lem, Asimov, PKD and other fantasy/ science fiction stuff. Later I spent a lot of time with Chomsky, Watzlawick, Kapuscinski. I love the work of mangaka Tsutomu Nihei. What really hit me were Kafka and Nietzsche.

Music:
At the moment I am mostly into heavy, distorted, bass driven music, Industrial, Rhytmic Noise. On the other hand I can always listen to Kalkbrenner, and many different kinds of techno. Or the young Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Rammstein, Mansons old stuff , College, Mumford & Sons, 65 Days of Static. There are many genres, which I am generally not that into but can find one specific artist I like. And if everything is too much I listen to Max Richter.

Movies:
Berlinale, Fantasy Film Fest, Sundance. Dogma 95, nearly anything from Denmark. Japan (Kurosawa, Sion Sono, Tsukamoto, gore, surreal), South Korea (Kim Ki-Duk, Kim Jee-Woon, Choi Min-Sik). Jarmush, Tarantino, Almodovar, Kubrick, Miyazaki, Noe, Aronofsky. So many actors and directors I worship and still so much of their work left to discover.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every now and then I am amazed about how people think, act, react - how their perceptions and thoughts are this different from what I could have imagined. Oh, and the Scottish highlands. Beautiful. I can´t wait to return there.

Countries I’ve Visited
