Overview
About Me
ABOUT US : Me and Andrés live together in São Paulo, Brazil. We love what we do for a living and also the simple everyday things, like our plants, our bicycles, going away to the forest and getting together with our friends. We like finding humor and wisdom in life, sharing ideas, references and culture, and also delving in more complex conversations once in a while. We dance, we cook, we sing, we make people laugh. We want to live an interesting life, working, traveling and expanding our human map. I’m a documentary producer and political agent in the audiovisual area, and Andrés writes, translates, and teaches performing arts, besides participating in films.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We prefer the unexpected. We enjoy staying in other people’s houses, which is a very common thing here in Brazil. We have a very big apartment in São Paulo and, from the beginning, we have hosted many friends and friends of friends here. We have a sofa-beds in both of our offices so we can accommodate at least four people besides us. We intend to travel often to see the world, and we are not big fans of hotels and touristic circuits, since they feel kind of detached and uninteresting. People are what really make a place, and we want to get to know the places we go to.

Music, Movies, and Books
Since we both work with culture, our focus shifts a lot between many different sources! We are lucky to receive a lot of stimulation and materials to absorb, both from our acquaintances and from our jobs, and we are always exchanging music, reading material and all kinds of films, fiction and non-fiction. We are interested in world affairs, multiculturalism, philosophy, and the complexities of life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fernanda: when i was only 21, I saved money to spend some time in Berlin, Germany. It was my first time traveling abroad and I did it alone; it was an engrossing experience and it gave me some of my best friends and stories to tell. It opened my eyes and my apetite for life even more.
Andrés: I made a philosophical decision to migrate from Argentina to Brazil when I was 29. I made a point to get here without any plans or safety nets, trusting my instincts and resources to keep whatever was important for me and build from there. It went incredibly better than expected and I can say I have been living a big life since then, emotionally, creatively, professionally. I now have a more stable life, with friends in many cities, recognition and lots of freedom.
Teach, Learn, Share
We love conversation, reasoning and experience. We aim to have a rich life until our old age. We feel like we always have a lot to say and we like to listen to what others have to say too. Encounters are our fuel. So, really, I wouldn’t like to anticipate what our encounter with you will be about, short or long, we want it to be meaningful.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can share our space, our plants, our books and movies, our bicycles, restaurant tips (São Paulo is a great place for eating food from around the world, besides fruit from all over the country, which seems to be infinite), nightlife information, and introduce you to the diverse cultural landscape of our city. We will probably cook for you and want to eat what you can cook too.
