About Me

Hey, my name is Fernanda, I love meeting new people and observing the world around me.
Things about my personality that might be good to know: I am very social, respectful of the diverse believes in the world, very adaptable to most situations.

It is really hard for me to explain who I am, but I believe if you read a little bit more about me down below, you will get a better grasp of who I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was born in Mexico, and spent all my childhood years there, I moved to the US when I was a teenager, and after finishing high school decided to move back home. Since 2009 I've been going back and forth between these two countries, spending most of the time in Mexico. I have always loved traveling, so I decided to relocate somewhere new this year, and get to know as many places, people, stories, food and whatever is put in front of me, as possible. I have friends that have used Couchsurfing for a number of years now, and had always recommended it to me. Since I am beginning a new face, where traveling will become a more constant thing in my life, I decided to create a profile. I am currently mostly seeking to make connections, meet people in the places where I go, and find temporary housing, but once I have a place to offer, I would love for travelers to stay with me as well. After all, it seems like couchsurfing is a network of travelers sharing, and looking out for each other!

Interests

I love visual arts, I am not a creator myself, but a great appreciator. Movement is another one of my big passions; I have practiced dance for a number of years, but I love finding new unconventional ways of physical expression. I am a closet writer, and that is one activity that I would like to start exploring a little bit more.
Food is another interesting subject to me. I love finding the different colors, shapes, smells, and taste of food that nature provides for us, as well as the broad diversity of ways we have found all around the world to transform food. I love hearing stories about recipes, the roll that a certain food has throughout a culture, a season of the year, a family, a festivity and so on.
Listening to people's stories is fascinating to me. Taking with me that little bit that someone will share with you through a story is a great treasure; that instant where you get to learn and experience the world through someone's memories and words is just incredible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I believe people might have their favorite this and that, that they can go back to and feel happy when reconnecting with that; something that has made a big impact on their life and will always be there for them, but also there is a lot of likes and dislikes that shift through time.
When it comes to music, Son Jarocho is the music genera that has the deepest meaning in my life, the music that has always been there for me, the genera that I go back to after not listening to it for a while and that will bring joy to my heart and many, many memories of my early childhood. This type of music is the traditional folk music played in Veracruz, Mexico, my home state.
At this moment I have not been in touch with my film loving side, and I cannot talk about any favorite films.
Like I mention above there are things in life that hold a special spot in one's heart at some point of our lives, and then something else comes along that will take over. That has been the case for me when it comes to books; I don't think I can talk about a favorite book, but rather the book that currently holds the biggest spot in my heart. At this point that book would have to be 100 Years of Solitude.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am flexible person, and will not hesitate to help the hosts out, with any tasks as long as I am capable of doing them. When I meet new people I like to bring laughter, harmony and good stories into their lives.
