About Me

*: I'll be available to show you the city or host you next summer; please, don't message me if you want to meet me before June, 'cause I'll be extremely busy. Sorry!
PLEASE, READ THE WHOLE PROFILE BEFORE SENDING ANY REQUEST. I WON'T ACCEPT ANYONE WHO HASN'T DONE IT.

CURRENT MISSION

To listen all the music in the world.

...

Okay, let's be realistic. To travel, to know people and to learn as much as I can of those people.

ABOUT ME

Well, it's not always easy to find a way to describe oneself, but I'll try.
My name is Fernando and I'm a 22-years-old musicologist and journalist who lives in a town near Barcelona called Olesa de Montserrat, which is about an hour by train - a little less, in fact. I live there with my parents and we're always welcome to anyone who wants to visit Barcelona. I can offer myself as a guide - I'm not the best ever, but I know many nice places worthwhile to be visited.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a really open-minded person, so as long as people is easy-going I don't have any problem to host them. I enjoy of long conversations about anything I find interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mainly because I never had many chances to travel because trips are usually so expensive, and I think it's an interesting way of knowing different countries and cultures. Also, as I see it, this is a good way of meeting people around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

-Music: It's literally impossible to name all the music I like, but these are my favorite artists: Steven Wilson (and all his projects), Pink Floyd, Tool, Obsidian Kingdom, Viva Belgrado, Anathema, Archive, Iamthemorning, Rishloo, Pure Reason Revolution, Anna Von Hausswolff, Sinistro, David Bowie, Triana, Maybeshewill, 65daysofstatic, Leprous, Justice, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Riverside, Queens Of The Stone Age, Chelsea Wolfe, Cult Of Luna, Ulver, Love Of Lesbian, Camel, Massive Attack, Katatonia, Amorphis, Tame Impala, Franz Ferdinand, Gojira, Daft Punk, Moby, CHVRCHES, Pain Of Salvation, Sólstafir, The Doors, Hiatus Kaiyote, Julie Christmas, Black Sabbath, The Ocean, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Who, Yes, Russian Circles, Boards Of Canada, Amenra, Converge, Oathbreaker, Agent Fresco, Sensible Soccers, Erik Satie, Baroness, Tim Hecker, Cream, American Football, Nordic Giants, King Crimson, alt-J, Slowdive, Franz Schubert, Tim Hecker, Ben Frost, Nils Frahm, Noveller, Deafheaven, Algiers, Swans, Steve Reich and the list goes on and on and on and on...

-Movies: I'm not really cinephile, though I always enjoy films as long as they make me laugh or think about different realities. (If you're a weirdo who knows a lot about it, please, enlighten me)

-Books: I normally enjoy a lot existentialist and philosophic literature and Spanish poetry. Some of my favorite writers are Lorca, Faulkner, Hesse, Dostoievski, Kafka, Somerset Maugham, Murakami, Orwell, Mendoza, Roger Wolfe, Camus, Sartre, Kundera or Laforet - these are only a few, probably the main ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To survive a whole day to the Maltese sun - seriously, it's unbearable in July. I've also traveled on my own for two weeks in countries I didn't know at all - which maybe isn't that incredible being in this community, but hey, at least I survived to tell it! And on the other hand, having a tea in the middle of a frozen Lithuanian lake in the middle of winter, which sound pretty impressing - I guess. Hahaha

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you tons and tons and tons of different kinds of music - really, I love to share new things with people. I guess I also can show you a bit of typical Catalan and Spanish food and I can try to teach you a little bit of our language, though I'm way better explaining things about our culture, our politics and our history. I'm also a terribly bad guitar and keyboard player, so maybe we could share some time playing if you want to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Alright, I know this shouldn't be written here, but to make sure you've read my profile and you know what implies that I accept your request, write somewhere in your request the word "whale".
