About Me

My name is Fernando, a 28 year old guy. I am from Spain, I grew up in a small city called Pamplona, up north close to the mountains and the sea. I studied Biology at my home town University before moving to a even smaller city called Tromso, in Northern Norway. I did a Master degree up there and lived a total of 5 years, it is such an espectacular place in a very remote area of northern Europe.

I met a lot of people there from many different countries, I like mixing up with different cultures and get the most of them, I am very curious and interested in learning as much as possible from other people.

I am in love with the mountains. I climb and kike as often as I can because I love being outside in the nature, it is my biggest pasion, even a way of life because sometimes it becomes in an obsession. I am very quite, sometimes it is hard to know if I am at home :) I do not talk to much but a nice conversation is always welcome. I am usually the listener cause I like to know more than to tell, it is usually more interesting.

As a host I would say I am a good one, quite as I said, not need to much attention and I am very tidy and organized so you won't feel that someone is conquering your space. As a guest, I can show you around but I won't be over your shoulder all the time if you want to wander around on your own, I can wait with a nice dinner.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I discover Couchsurfing while I was in Norway. A lot of my friends used it to meet people coming over or to find a nice plce to stay during their trips at the same time as a local showed them around. I think it is a very interesting way to find free accomodation as well as a fantastic opportunity to meet locals and new people. I am sure it will make my future trips more valuable.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not a big fan of the music, I just listen whatever it is in the radio in that moment. I can read anything related to mountains, specially books telling stories about the gratest achivements of the 50's and 60's. My favorite movie of all times might be The Truman Show :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen the Aurora Borealis so many times but I will never get tired of it, I worked as a Northern Lights guide for a few years. I have been in the Arctic, sailing on board a reseach vessel through the Greenland ice-sheet. I have been at the foot of mount Everest.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A bunch of funny stories is assured as well as a proper Spanish meal. If climbers, I could show around different areas.
