ABOUT ME

I left home when I was 17 for a nearby town for my higher studies (Biology) and never looked back. Then I started to travel a little bit further after my BA (Literature) and got the chance to use my second BA (Teaching French as a Foreign language, if you see a pattern, please let me know) abroad for 2 years in the Carribean sea (Saint-Lucia) where I joined the cultural network of the Alliance Française as a part of my military service. Afterwards I was officially a Lieutenant without having had to wear a uniform or to hold a gun, (yep, I feel lucky) and moved to Morocco where I stayed a bit more than 4 years in El Jadida as a director of an Alliance Française (=French Cultural Center). I was then offered to go to Bangladesh where I stayed 2 years as a cultural representative. I then came back to France to have a MA (Cultural management... don't worry, I also got lost) in order to be able to go abroad again.
Pfff, that sounds a bit like a resume but it is really my professional life that made me the traveller I am now. My deepest wish is only to go to see what's behind the next hill and I guess it is why I am so enthusiatic about meeting new people through couchsurfing or other media.
I have a few stories to tell like how I passed out after having been bitten by a centipede or the time I had an AK47 pointed at my chest by the Burmese border but, hey, in this world you have nothing for nothing so you will have to share some memories too if we meet ! ;)
By the way, I hate political correctness, I love to talk about politics, literature and cinema. Moreover, I am very keen to share with people any idea about the crazy world we are living in. If "Darwin's nightmare", "Story of stuff", "The corporation", "We feed the world", "Religulous", 'Adam Smith's deadend" and such movies and books are on your toplists, we might get along quite well ! :)

For the time being I am the General Administrator (yeah, mind the uppercase, I am sensitive about that issue... ;)) of a Baroque ensemble or, in other words, I try to be the link beween the material word and a bunch of idealistic musicians. And, yes, I do love it ! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My flatmates are couchsurfing fanatics and even if I just created my profile, I can say that I have been involved somehow in at least 50 couchsurfing experiences so far.

Interessi

Politics : I am at a stage of my life where I want things to change. My habits, my way to see the global economy. Fair trade is a fine idea... but blowing up the Chicago stock exchange market speculating on wheat and other cereals and basic food may not be a terribly bad idea either. ;) I would love to discuss on that.
Culture : not the boring stuff that tricks you by sending the message "if you can't understand what I want to express it means it is done such a smart way that you cannot approach it, respect". Nope. The real one that make you vibrate, shiver, cry, smile, feel alive.

Musica, film e libri

Big reader... I am a big reader and I organize bookk club happening regularly. THis not exactmy your average book club as it is NOT a way to play the scholar and got to know who read the biggest book. No, the point is really to enjoy.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Rented a whole ship for a romantic cruise with the woman I loved the most.
Got and AK-47 pointed at my chest by the Burmese border.
Got bitten by a centipede that crawled up in my trousers in Saint-Lucia
Made love in the sea in the Sundarbadan mangroves between India and Bangladesh
Was (almost) arrested in Dublin airport to have triggered the general alarm system
And quite a few more I may tell you when we'll meet. :)
