I love meeting new people and getting to see more of the real day to day life wherever I am, both of which couchsurfing is excellent for. Some of the best times of my life were spent with people I met either sleeping on their couch or at a CS event.

I love the unknown, the new. New places, new people, new foods, new languages, new stories. I love roadtrips and divey restaurants and night swimming in the ocean. I love foreign markets and snowball fights and playing pétanque with dapper old men in newsboy caps. I love bonfires and 24 hours of daylight and books with broken spines and dog-eared pages. I love staying out partying until dawn, and I also love staying in, cooking dinner and watching a movie with friends.

Movies: Ooh, I love Monty Python (and any independent movies with any of them), The Usual Suspects, The Sound of Music, anything made by Disney in the 90s and movies where people speak the language they should be speaking. Nothing worse than a movie about Russians wherein they all speak English with British accents...subtitles are not the enemy!

Books: I love to read, almost to the point of it being a health hazard (walking down busy streets with your nose in a book is very dangerous...unless you're Belle...then it leads to singing....) Some of my enduring favorites would be Fahrenheit 451, Ender's Game, The Hobbit, and Wicked.

Took several bush-plane trips around the summit of Mt. McKinley, but the best I would say was when I saw my very good friend (a mountain climber) standing atop the summit. Great timing!

I long to learn Portuguese and Hebrew and how to ride a motorcycle. And of course I'd love to learn everything about your city/town/hamlet/anarcho-syndicalist commune.
