About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To complete my 3rd & 4th Camino De Santiago, time permitting i will also walk the Portuguese waye time I want and hope to meet many more pilgrims from all over the world. ( MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!)

ABOUT ME

Hi,

I will be travelling through Europe/China from early May 2012, my couch will not be available during that time, I will consider requests from oct onwards.

I live in frankston a beachside suburb south of Melbourne, travel to Frankston is easy by the metro train, it is the last stop on the "Frankston line".
My home is a short walk from the frankston Train station

The beach is 10 minutes walk from my home, and it is a nice walk along the beach to the town centre.

I enjoy travel and meeting new people fom various cultures and backgrounds.

I have recently entered into early retirement, and I am looking forward to more travel. I will also have more time to host visitors

I believe Australia is one of the best counries in the world, and would like share that belief by hosting visitors form time to time.

I can understand basic german although I have not mastered the language to a point where I can have a flowing conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is to treat people as you would wish to be treated. I believe in Karma, and that everything happens for a reason. (If only I knew the reason in advance)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am happy to provide a visitors somewhere to stay when visiting my region of Australia, and if I have time show them around and assist them with using public transport etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CS experience to date has been very positive.

I have found that when you have visitors you re-discover your own city and surroundings, and learn not to take it for granted. I now appreciate how lucky I am to live were I live :)

I hope that my experience as a "Host" helps me to be a better guest.

Interests

Travel, I am undertaking my 3rd Camino in Spain then a short trip to china

  • traveling
  • volunteering
  • beaches

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most popular music from rocknroll to present day popular with the exception of rap, hiphop , heavy metal etc.

for movies I enjoy a good comedy, feel good romance and light hearted action, not into horror, or excessively violent movies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I completed the Camino De Santiago in Aug 2009, a 865Km trek by foot through Spain, the most memorable part of my 1 month journey was not the sites which where stunning but the people I met from all over the world. Although there were language barriers at times, we managed to comunicate and form friendships. I have walked it again in 2011,an plan to walk again in 2012 and possibly volunteering to help for a week or so at a hostel?

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy meeting and learning from people with varying life experience and lifestyle/cultures.

Experiences are much more fun and memorable when shared!

I do not know if I have much to teach, but I do know I have much to learn,

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Turkey, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia
