Hello everyone!

My name is Félix (pronounced fail-x for non french speaker). I am a PhD student in physics in Montréal, Canada. My hometown is Montréal but I like to travel and meet new people on the way! I like sports, especially those involving snow/ice or those in nature like hiking or skiing. I played hockey my whole life, I guess that makes me a pretty stereotypical Canadian haha.

I just joined Couchsurfing so I don't have any experience on it yet a part from an "ad hoc" hosting with Claire which is a couchsurfer who hosted me by chance when travelling through France in 2018. She encouraged me to join Couchsurfing as I'd like to try it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel and I think that Couchsurfing provides a platform for cheap travel and for easier encounters (at least with locals as in hostels, most people are tourists too).

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a lot heavy metal and rock music! My band of the moment is Gojira. Also I am a bit geek so I enjoy sci-fi shows and movies like star wars. I also like fantastic universes like the Lord of the Ring saga which I devoured every book!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am doing part of my PhD studies at the University of Oxford. It's the first time I actually lived outside of my country for so long (6 months). During that time in the UK, I made sure to enjoy it to the maximum and travel in Europe every time I had a chance. I discovered the alps and skied there for alps and skied there for a week!

Teach, Learn, Share

As a student in pure sciences, I love to share my knowledge of the universe and its components! Also, my native tongue is French so I can teach it as well. I know a bit of coding too especially in Python (I'm a python guru).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very easy to live with! Also I enjoy to take drinks with friends. So, if the host is open to it I'd happily share some good time around a few pints. Also I can cook and I'd be pleased to share meals with my hosts!
