About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make this world a better place (and more fun). try to open peoples eyes...

ABOUT ME

I was born in Cape Verde (Africa), lived there 2 years and than went to Germany (my dad worked for a german company that helps undeveloped countries). At age 4 we travelled to Quito, Ecuador, where I spent my next 7 years. After that, we lived 3 (very important) years in Fiji, and after that we "came back" to our homeland Chile. Since than I live in Temuco, to the south. I lived 3 years in Santiago, the capital, but the 3 million people that dwell that city was just to much for me. I studied veeery long physics, but finally I gave up (not to science, but to the academial system), than I studied "audiovisual comunication", did some (bad) films, and NOW I'm into Beer Brewing, very seriously actually...

PHILOSOPHY

Again a hard question. I live every moment so deep I can, because for me this is the only life I will ever get. For me everything will perish some day (a bit in the budist kind of thinking), so I don't really get to fond of anything. I have great respect for all human beings, and that's why my liberty ends where the other one's starts (that's why I'm VERY against smoking). Apart from that... have fun! And don't take life too seriously, you will never get alive out of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have 3 main pilars in my life:
-Travelling
-Friends
-Proyects

I think CS2 is just about all 3. Or I hope it is!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My main experience is not really mine, but of my family. Since I can remember, we have always had lots of people in my house (parents house). Friends of them, friends of friends, or even friends of friends of friends. Now I live alone, and I'm trying to keep up with that spirit.

Interests

This is hard to define... I usually like anything that's new, and since I know so little of this world, almost anything is welcome.
But if I have to choose, I like:
-science (specially astrophysics and cosmology)
-cinema (not only hollywood)
-politics (specially talking to foreigners)
-just practicing my english and german

  • beer
  • politics
  • movies
  • traveling
  • physics
  • science

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to read a lot of Science Fiction and Fantasy, but lately I have left aside the book world. I prefer movies, specially independant ones, or from "strange" countries (AKA not hollywood). My music is usually sofy music, or folk music specilly from the andes. Some political songs are very important to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't just go and describe 2 or 3 moments that have really struck me. I believe, everyday is a possibility to undergo an adventure. I'm not saying "hey, life's a gift, live your everyday like the last one", no, I'm not that optimistic, I just love the fun even the most little things can bring to life. Visiting the salt caves in San Pedro de Atacama can be as exciting as traveling on the "metro" in Santiago at rush hour. It's in the human details that I hang on to, how other people live and react to their daily lives. When I've lost all hope on humanity (and that happens very often), sometimes I see little glimpses of a better world, and that always strikes directly into my heart. And that, I believe, can be mainly achieved by travelling.
