I am a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am studying geography specifically health geography with research interest in tick-borne illness. I have been living in U.S since August 2016 as I started my master. I just graduated from my master, and will continue to a PhD in upcoming August (August 2018). Before I started grad school, I worked full-time in Esri Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia (a Southeast Asia country closes to Singapore). I went to college in Indonesia (University of Indonesia), also majoring geography.

My interests besides working are cooking and traveling. I spend most of my free time for doing those things. I am also very open to new culture, and I love learning new language as well.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I will be traveling a lot mainly for conferences. As a graduate student, I need to attend many conferences which are related to my interests. Since I love traveling and meeting new people, I think Couchsurfing would be a great platform to meet new people as well as make a new network in places I am attending my conferences. Also, I usually get extended to go to the neighboring cities (countries) of a place where my conference is held.

In the same time, I am also willing to host people (especially females) when they are visiting Urbana-Champaign, IL. I live alone in my apartment (with two bed rooms). Since we have a great campus, I believe there may be students or visitors who need stays here. I am welcomed my home to those who need place to stay when they and I are here in Urbana-Champaign.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Sending my half sister to college, helping my mother renovates her home, opening an English course scholarship for the poor, giving partial scholarship for 5 college students (so far), voluntary at least one a month.

I can teach GIS (Geographic Information Systems) as I was a certified technical trainer. I am certified with COMPTIA CTT+, Esri ArcGIS Desktop 10.3, Esri Certified Instructor.

Of course I can teach how to cook delicious Indonesian traditional foods. You can check most of my instagram picts are foods haha

I definitely can share anything I know depending on what she wants to know. I really want to share the value of being kind to people. Sometimes, people are busy with their own business, and forgot about being engaged with people around them and their community. As people are very important for me, sharing the value of how much I value people are a great thing that I want to do with my hosts.
