Overview
About Me
I recently graduated from my Master of Science degree and am currently a full time research assistant working on projects related to cellular metabolism. I'm an avid lover of medical science and research in general both inside and outside of the workplace.
When I'm not working in the lab I have lots of hobbies that keep me busy. My biggest interest right now is playing the guitar; however, I also love to cook, run, workout, skateboard, and snowboard.
When time permits I also love to travel. I've been lucky to go on several trips throughout my life including a 2 month backpacking trip during my undergraduate degree through Europe and Morocco, a few summer trips to Belize as a volunteer teaching aide for summer reading programs, and now a trip to Europe to present at a scientific conference.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Given that I've recently finished my degree, and am currently looking for jobs I had to move back home temporarily. This means that I won't be able to host for the next little while. However, as soon as things are less in limbo I'll be happy to give back to the CS community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Currently a Couchsurfing beginner so I've never had the chance to stay with anyone. But I'm looking forward to become a part of the couchsurfer culture right away!

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
I would say that more than anything I listen to the oldies but from all sorts of genres. Here's a few.
Rock: Queen, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, The Beatles,
Folk: Bob Dylan, Neil Young,
Indie: Arcade Fire, Mac DeMarco,
Other: Miles Davis,
And all of the Wes Anderson soundtracks :)
BOOKS
I'm a big fan of books depicting dystopian futures such as 1984, A Brave New World, and the Robot series by Issac Assimov. Also I'm currently finishing a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on this trip.
I'm also a big fan of books related to research and science. The best reads in this group for me are An Emperor of All Maladies: A biography of cancer and The Gene (both by Siddhartha Mukherjee), and How to Think Like a Freak (by the freakonomics podcast hosts).
MOVIES
I'm a big fan of most genres so I'll just name a few of my top picks here: All of Wes Anderson, all of Quentin Tarantino's, Leon the Profession and of course Star Wars.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For me the most amazing thing I've done was completing my Masters degree. This was the first time I worked on a project of this magnitude, and had to make it through countless struggles to finish. It taught me a great deal about overcoming adversity and just made me an all around better guy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Back at home I'm a big fan of cooking and have one or two recipes under my belt that I'd love to cook up for my host. I'd also be happy to help with any chores or run errands.
Outside of that I'm good company and good conversation :)
