Overview
About Me
I think I'm someone pretty focused on my goals. Mostly when the primary goal is to have a beer with some friends and just chill. Even though I like to think what I'm going to do one day at a time, professionally I'm pretty serious about the long run. I guess I always knew what I wanna do when I grew up, and I think I'm getting there. One day at a time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to meet some friends around the world. One of my friends showed me Couchsurfing and I instantaneously thought that this is the best idea ever. I hope to meet some friends over here in Brazil. in Limeira - SP or when I'm at my folks' home in João Pessoa -PB (where I grew up). I currently spend much more time in Limeira, but João Pessoa is a very beautiful city with sick beaches that I love to show off to my tourist friends.
Interests
I'm always interested in sports. Unlike most Brazilians, football (soccer) isn't my favorite of them. I'm a great fan of basketball and love to discuss NBA, Euroleague, and NBB (the Brazilian basketball league). I like other sports like track & field (which I currently study in my Ph.D. course), American football, Handball, and almost every other one. Aside, I like to read (although I didn't have much time to read fiction books anymore), to watch some movies and to party with friends and my lovely girlfriend.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy mostly rock music. AC/DC is one of my favorites, together with Metallica, Deep Purple, System of a Down and so on.
I like classic movies such as Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, and Snatch (hey, they're classic to me!). The star wars saga was awesome too (the old ones). I don't really follow the recent movies, but like to kill time with those Hollywood major productions.
I like to read mostly fiction books. Not a fan of those self-help ones, or those with cheap philosophy. To list a few, my favorite books are Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and some Brazilian books that you probably never heard of.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved out as soon as I graduate in Physical Education (like, the other day). I moved from João Pessoa - PB to São Paulo, two places very far away (like 2000 km), without much guarantee of a place to stay. I came to try to be a Ph.D. student in sports sciences, and fortunately, four years and a Master's degree later, it is what I am now. Gotta thanks the many many friends that help me through it.
I've now completed my Ph.D. in sports sciences and nutrition. I'm very happy about it professionally, and the journey was the best part. Meet a lot of people, made incredible friends and visit a bunch of places, always ready to know some more!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn new things with others. As a teacher and a sports sciences researcher, focused on bioenergetics of running and sports in general, I can teach you interesting stuff in this area. If you like to run I can share tips that would change the way you workout.
Overall, I'd love to chat and share experiences from around the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook Brazilian food! Brazilian barbecue is my specialty, but I can do a mean feijoada as well! Oh, and caipirinhas, if you like to drink. Even if you don't like, I think this is a must try. Maybe some "pão de queijo" (bread of cheese), and for dessert, a nice "brigadeiro" (it's a chocolate sweet), something you could only find in Brazil. As long as we can find the proper or similar ingredients, I could bring a little of Brazil to your kitchen!
