About Me

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I lived in the US during 4 years. I'm easing going and really enjoy meeting new people, learning about their life experiences and different cultures.

My greatest passion in life is scuba diving, enjoying the silence of the ocean underwater while watching beautiful turtles swimming. Also, I really enjoy hiking, specially at night, to see stars, the moon and the sunrise.

Parties aren't something I really enjoy. I'd rather go to a simple bar with good music and have nice conversations over a beer or have friends over to cook together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm hosting on couchsurfing to help people make the best of their stay in Rio, with a local's perspective and not just the tradicional touristic programs, and to learn about different cultures. Also, I always want to practice other languages, specially French and Spanish.

I'm traveling on couchsurfing to learn more about local cultures and live a local better experience when getting to know a new place.

Interests

I absolutely love football (soccer) and beaches. I also love scuba diving. My perfect day consist of waking up early, scuba diving or snorkeling, eating a nice fish with a beer for lunch and hanging out with friends on the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

Not that big of a fan of partying to much. Rather go out to a nice bar, with live music with some friends and waking up early to enjoy the sunrise and the rest of the day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2011, I started volunteering at a project called "Alunos Contadores de Histórias" (http://alunoscontadores.com.br/), where students from UFRJ spend two hours a week telling stories to the kids at the university's pediatrics hospital. Now days I've been busier with the organization of the project and training 70 new volunteers each semester. Its been a life changing experience and each day we learn so much with the amazing kids.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very easy going and adapt really well to different conditions without bothering people's routines. I always travel with my Ukulele (not good at it, but makes me company on trips). Always like to hang out, have a beer or a bottle of wine, talk about life experiences and hike to different places.
