About Me
Hello!
My name is Filipe and my home is the world. I’ve been trying to travel as much as I can and to make new memories as much as I can. All my travel stories have the people I meet on the way in it, so I’m always down to meeting new folks and to be surrounded by conversations.
I like to do a lot of stuff, you name it. Hiking, going to a bar, having a nice dinner, sports, adventure, bookstores... the only thing is that I’m terrible at cooking, but I try my best and maybe (I said maybe) I can cook you a very nice farofa.
Couchsurfing for me is about sharing, so I want to sit down and talk (with a bottle of wine would be better), to hear stories, to tell mine and to exchange experiences of this crazy adventure we call life.
I’m a writer and I’m very into literature. Also I love movies. And soccer. I can talk about it the whole day and much of my culture comes from soccer (I’m Brazilian after all).
I love making friends along the way and I hope you can be one of them. And if you have dogs, even better :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because travelling without meeting people is like just watching the match highlights. I want the real experience
Interests
Music, books, movies, tv series, soccer, travelling, philosophy, yoga, PlayStation, History and mountain goats (how can they climb like that?)
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: U2, Muse and Florence and the Machine are my favourites. I like rock, pop and Brazilian samba. I’m into a band called Dustbowl Revival that reminds me of my days in the countryside of Connecticut. For dancing, reggaeton and those club mixes they make out of Beyoncé and Oasis’ songs (the one with Mr. Brightside is awesome too).
Movies: if Ben Stiller and Mr. Cage are not in the movie, I’m in. I’m kidding (kind of). I really like drama, thrillers and suspense. I love French cinema. And Argentinian. My favourite movie is Mulholland Drive and the second one is Friends with Benefits featuring Justin Timberlake. Again, kidding (kind of).
Books: Lots. Big fan of Karl Ove Knausgård and Júlio Cortázar. So basically I like tall writers. PS: I have a picture with Karl Ove (we’re friends, I can call him that).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was a teenager I became friends with a lobster
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you what I know of Portuguese, Spanish and English and also everything about Grêmio, my soccer club. I play guitar, but my singing is bad. So if you sing, we’re a perfect match. And you can also teach me. I’m always down to learning new things and cool words in different languages. Oh, and how to cook as well
