About Me
ABOUT ME
My name is Filipe, I'm from Brazil and I'm 30 years old. I'm gratuated in chemical engineering, but I don't practice it anymore, it's been 5 years since I left this inside office job kind of life. Since then I'm moving and working in different kinds of projects, I've traveled the whole South America, most of Europe (still missing the northern part) and southeast Asia. From 2015 to 2018 I lived mostly in Italy, in a small city close to Rome, then in the end of 2018 I moved to Thailand where I worked in an animal shelter, rescuing cats and dogs.
Now I'm in Brazil spending some time with my parents, but in July i'll be back in Europe looking for some project to work on until the end of September, when I'll be back in Thailand to work at the animal shelter once again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurf for the experiences it can provide, it's much more than save some money, it's a easy way to know amazing people and experience places as a local.
Interests
I love football (videogame, real life, watch, play, discuss). I also studied music for a while, used to play in a band, now I just play guitar at home by myself. The main go of my life is to travel around the world, whenever I can, I travel with friends, always to a new place; normally these places are away from cities and we do things like camping, rappelling, trekking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies. Star Wars, The Truman Show, Shawshank Redemption, V For Vendetta, Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Bastards, El Secreto de Sus Ojos, UP, Wall-E.
Books. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Dark Tower, Lord of The Rings.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2010, my friends and I did the Inca Trail, from Olantaytambo to Machu Pichu, four days walking in the very same trail that the Incas used 600 years ago. Words can't explain how amazing (and difficult) it was.
I also crossed the salt desert (Salar Uyuni in Bolivia) on a jeep. Three day riding on a white cracked salted groud. At the second they, we stayed in a hotel made of salt, we even licked the walls to see if it was really salt and it was.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn and to teach. I can teach you how to play the guitar, how to cook Brazilian food, any of the languages that I know and anything that I have knowledge that you find interesting. About learning, I'm always willing to learn new things, literally anything, from papercraft to how to spot a certain star on the sky.
