I am 21 years old guy from Slovakia currently living in Denmark's capital Copenhagen.

Studying International Studies bachelor programme in English (unfortunately, my Danish language skills are not good enough to study in Danish :D ) at Roskilde University near Copenhagen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, of course, the idea of affordable accommodation is lovely idea. But there is so much more to it. I have never tried it, yet, but I would love to. It is not just finding a place to sleep, it is getting to know other people from other cultures, nationalities, countries, finding out about their country's traditions, food and about them and their life. Getting help from local about what to do and visit in the city, since locals have hand-on experience from the city and that can make the visit 1000 % more worth it.

Music, Movies, and Books

When we are talking about music, I can listen to almost anything, I am not tied just to one genre, when I like something, I just listen to it - whether it's electronic music or DJs (Kygo, Avicii, Alesso, ...), alternative rock (Imagine Dragons and X Ambassadors), MØ (could not pick better country for studying, since she is Danish :D ), Dua Lipa, P!nk, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Billie Eilish, Bishop Briggs, Khalid, Sevdaliza. Basically, anything that suits my ears :)

I love watching TV series and procrastinating while doing that :D But watching TV series is the way how I learnt English, so I can always find some time for a new episode or even new TV series. I, of course, love Game of Thrones (as most people :D), have been watching it since before the 3rd season. I love fantasy/sci-fi/mythical/historical stuff (Westworld, American Horror Story, American Gods, Harry Potter), political stuff (House of Cards, Veep - although that goes more into comedy :D) and drama comedies like e.g. Shameless.

To be true, I am not much of a book reader, I always want to start reading books, make new year resolutions, but I am just too lazy. I have read some pieces, e.g. A Song of Ice and Fire and whole Harry Potter book series few times. But have to change that for sure!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made a New Year's resolution to visit 3 countries in 2017 and made it to 6 (soon to be 7), so I really love that.

Helped organize Ljubljana Gay Pride 2017, the first gay pride I have attented, as my European Voluntary Service project.

Visited and absolutely loved Croatian Dubrovnik, city where big part of Game of Thrones is filmed.

Decided to study abroad and in the end, really did it. Never thought I would be living by myself and be financially independent from my parents at 20 yo.

Talked in front of more than 500 people in the European Parliament representing my school and my country.

Teach, Learn, Share

Currently, I am learning Danish (although, quite passively, just by living in the Danish environment). Learning new language is great and it will also help me understand Danish mentality a little bit better (to be true, sometimes i just do not understand them at all :D ).

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experience from the countries I have lived in and I have visited, whether it was Slovakia (the country I have spent the most of my life in) or Denmark, where I am living now.

Cook for you some traditional Slovak food. Will, certainly, have to up my cooking skills if the recipe will involve baking or frying :D
