About Me

You can call me Jona.

I'm someone who has traveling in my veins. I have loved traveling since I was a kid. My free time, when I get it, is divided between many activities such as volunteering, hanging with friends, trying new cuisine/ restaurants and traveling. I'm a pretty mellow person and always up for a good conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

"Be the change in the world that you wish to see." Now I'm working to solidify what that means for me...

The quote that best describes me as of now is a piece of a Dolly Parton song:
"Like a poor wayfaring stranger that they speak about in song
I'm just a weary pilgrim trying to find what feels like home
Where that is no one can tell me, am I doomed to ever roam?"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been a member of CS for a long time.

Life has a way of getting in the way so I haven't been active in a while.

I participate when I am able by surfing/hosting but mostly by hanging out with people when traveling.
I have surfed a few times and hosted a few times. Its a great experience and a way to get the local feel for a place.

Interests

My interests change and grow as I continue to learn and explore. Some of the constants are: people watching, absorbing knowledge, meeting fascinating people, exploring new places both close and far...

Music, Movies, and Books

movie: mrs. doubtfire or muriel's wedding, music: regina spektor or lizzo, book: the giver. have a conversation with me and i'll gladly tell you more :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My travels aren't nearly as much as I'd like but I feel what I have experienced is priceless. By far my favorite international travel was Australia and getting to spend a month and a half there, absorbing culture (spent a week in an Aboriginal village), helping through volunteering, and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel teaching offers a way to deepen the knowledge one already has and enjoy sharing any knowledge I posses. As for learning, I enjoy it and seek to do it as often as possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love stories, both telling and hearing, and have made it my life's goal to learn and share people's stories in the hopes of better understanding myself and the world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Mexico, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
