CURRENT MISSION
to do something that scares me every day...
ABOUT ME
I am a very happy, easy going person. I like to make others around me feel good too! An adventure, a bit of sun and a wee cider makes a happy Sarah.
PHILOSOPHY
"Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity" Albert Einstein.
"Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes." Jack Handey.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CS experience was in Madrid with the fabulous Rafa and Miguel. They gave me the best summer of my life and I keep those memories in a treasured place.
June 2011 - Rafa and Miguel, Madrid
August 2012 - Gavin Chan, Toronto
More than anything I love to host & meet other likeminded people in couchsurfing!
Intereses
I am a great ambassador for my country. I'm into everything Scottish including bagpipes, rugby and haggis... nom nom. Scotland is really, really beautiful. It's hard to appreciate somewhere if you've lived there all your life but since I've moved away I realise the little things that make it so special.
I appreciate the arts and wish I had much more talent than I do, but I still try to paint and create things just for fun. I love to travel and explore. I get lost a lot. Every time I go to a new city I like to take photos of the street art and quirky little things that most people don't even notice. I love to play and listen to music, one day I will have the confidence to start writing things that pop into my head.
I like going fast. Usually I walk fast because I'm always late for things but I like to drive and cycle and ski fast too. That feeling that you get when your eyes are watering and you don't know if you're gonna be able to stop is just amazing.
My biggest vice is coffee. I am a self-confessed coffee addict! Lava Java is the best - I think it's the strongest you can buy in the UK. If anyone can suggest a stronger or better coffee let me know!

Música, películas y libros
I like different music for when I'm in different moods. Everything from rock to electronic to jazz, and to even country music sometimes! Dolly Parton. 'If you talk bad about country music, it's like saying bad things about my momma. Them's fightin' words.'!! I love music for the soul... Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone. Finding new unsigned, local artists is really interesting for me too. There's so many talented people performing in bars and on the street.
Good movies... there's just too many. Two great movies I've seen recently are Seven pounds and Unknown. I have a bit of a confession about a film called Notting Hill too. I watched it when I was about 10 years old and then about 300 times thereafter. I could probably recite the whole script to you off-by-heart! My parents weren't together when I was growing up, and even though it's not a great example, it was the first time I saw what love was. Whenever I feel down in the dumps I watch it with a big duvet on the couch and eat copious amounts of chocolate. What a stereotypical girly thing to do!

I can teach you how to play the bagpipes & how to make a globe from paper squares. I can also teach you how to make the best shortbread EVER. I want to learn how to speak Spanish & how to sketch. I want to play in a jazz band... anybody need a saxophonist? (I used to play in one years ago - could probably pick it up again with a bit of practice...)
