About Me
Hi!
My name is Fin and I am a first year biology student from Slovenia🇸🇮.
I have been urged to seek out adventure and see the world as I was awarded a DiscoverEU Youth pass! I decided to use it up as it would otherwise expire in June so I have set my sights on visiting Copenhagen in Denmark, Amsterdam in Netherlands and Brussels in Belgium via interrail system as a backpacker.
I have considered couch surfing as I think it would really add to my travelling experience!
This is my first solo journey so I am hoping to make some lovely friends along the way, learn more about the cultures that surround me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking forward to meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, especially cultural cuisine ✨
Interests
I love anything and everything when it comes to art and crafting. I have tried miniature sculpting, crocheting, braiding, weaving, origami, painting with acrylic, watercolor, chalk, charcoal, pastels and many more! I also love making my own stickers with dried flowers and leaves which I forage from my home town's forest area. My favourite art eras/genres are dada, surealism, symbolysm, fin de siecle, impressionism, expressionism.

As my family owns two dogs, I adore walking them especially in nature. Now, in the spring time, I can't help but enjoy the bright green colours of the beech trees and the chirping of local birds, accompanied by any trickling water.

When it comes to cooking, my trait of giving to people and making them smile really shines as I love cooking for others and sharing food/recipes! Despite my lack of spice tolerance I live by "don't knock it 'till you try it!"

Music, Movies, and Books
I cannot live without music. It accompanies me everywhere I go and the way it's able to bring out such strong emotions is truly unique. I have enjoyed genres from all over the world in many languages from many times in history. From classical pieces, 30s jazz, 80s rock, blues, lofi, indie to things way out there, I cannot wrap my mind around the fact that there is music out there that I would adore but just haven't discovered yet.
I haven't read many novel books outside of school material but I do find comfort in poetry and expanding my knowledge via educational articles - just looking through a dictionary of symbols in dreams is a treat on its own.
I do however love fantastic words so I definitely enjoyed reading through Mythologies of the world!
Regarding movies, I am not much of a TV watcher, I do occasionally go through a true crime series or a beautifully animated movie like Wolfwalkers or anything by studio Ghibli. I do find comfort in shows/movies based on books like Jane Austen as the rural old English setting has a beautiful atmosphere, think Anne with an E!
I also find comfort in anime and cartoon shows such as JoJo's bizarre adventure, Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on titan, Madoka Magica... Adventure time, Regular show, Steven Universe, Bee and Puppycat...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have decided to go on this trip! ^^
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn any new phrases in different langauges as I have some German, Latin and Ancient Greek background and I just happen to be an etymology nerd! I will gladly listen to any life stories you have to share and I'd love to exchange a recipe or two, perhaps I could cook something for you! I am always on the hunt for new music so, by all means, let's share some music!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook for you, share some stories or some fun facts about the most random subjects! I am quite adaptable and crafty so ask away, if there is anything I can help with.
