About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, Learn, Evolve, Grow.

ABOUT ME

uhhh...hmmm...you know its really hard to write about yourself without sounding conceited...or like an idiot....or a liar.....right well basically I would say to live and experience life is the greatest thing we can do. So i'm out to experience as much of it as I can. I love storms and not knowing what the hell is going on. Rules can be important, but it's more important to know how to break them as most of my more memorable moments in life occurred while doing just that. Always down for adventure and crazy random.....stuff...(kind of a recurring theme for people on this site) I do also like some of the more calm moments in life. Chillin out on a hammock or just in a field with the right group of people can really make you learn what the more important things in life are.

PHILOSOPHY

We would have to have a good sit down preferably with some quality beverages to talk about this one. So for now I'll just say that I keep an open mind to other philosophical beliefs and love discussing other ideas about life, how to live it, and what it all means.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Getting together with awesome people and sharing house, food, knowledge, and incredible experiences and memories whether hosting or surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Started out hosting people with a friend and roommate. After that I moved out and took up this most addictive and wonderful habit.

Interests

Extreme Sports, Insane Stunts, Girls, You know, all the life risky stuff. hah. I might not be very good at all of them all of the time, but either way it's fun. Seriously though I've surfed snowboarded, wakeboarded skateboarded(kind of....actually im really aweful at skateboarding). Parkour, skydiving, spelunking, tromping, kayaking, and really anything physical that tests one's limitations preferably while going really fast. But basically being outdoors and finding out and experiencing how we can feel so infinitesimal compared to forces of nature, yet feel so connected and significant at the same time.

So obviously I love the outdoors and getting dirty and physical. Even amongst skyscrapers one can explore all the nooks crannies, forgotten buildings and abandoned rooftops, but I also like talking about philosophy, people's beliefs, mysteries, space, technology, games, movies, languages, trades, hobbies, and generally interesting things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Damn, I'll try and be succinct as I can about this:

Movies:
Seriously all over the board on this one. I really do enjoy watching all kinds of movies. I used to be a film major so i got really into it. One movie that I've seen recently though that stands out was "Waking Life"....I had to pick up the pieces of my mind that fell all over the floor after watching that.

Music:
I love TONS of music, pretty much everything from world music to techno/ambient to hard rock. though I feel a particular bit of nostalgia to most things from the 90's. Some favorite artists are Skindred, Zoe Keating, Massive Attack, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Bobby Mcferrin, Tunng, Beats Antique, the list goes on.

Books:
Since travelling I've just now started to pick back up my reading habits. I just started reading "the hero with a thousand faces" by Joseph Campbell, but if you have some suggestions of some awesome books, lay 'em on me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Okay so It's not the craziest thing I've done or the thing that's gotten me in the most trouble, but before i graduated from high school me and a few mates snuck out of the dorms and went exploring in the woods at 1 in the morning behind the campus where we came across a clearing in the middle of nowhere and found a 100 ft. tall water tower that we scaled. There's a lot more to the story, but basically Being on top of that tower with my closest friends above everything else for miles in the dead of night was one of the best feelings I've ever had. Oh I've also been skydiving and created a sand mandala with a buddhist monk(Lama Tenzin) and that was both humbling and AWESOME.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far as teaching I know quite a bit about urban exploring, or general adventuring. I know how to do a few extreme sports and i USED to do a little breakdancing. I've decided to try to learn how to carve and whittle wood this summer and I also found a didgeridoo which I'm trying to manage without being the most annoying housemate. I don't think I could ever stop learning new stuff though. Whether I'm taking classes, hanging out with talented people, or just random experimentation I can't get enough of learning and broadening my horizons.

As far as learning goes im eager to learn anything whether it's stories you've got to share or how to whittle wood Im there. I want to know 5 differnt languages by the time im 40 including sign language, how to sail a boat, get better at parkour, and well basically if i don't know it, i'd like to.
