About Me

Brand new to Missoula, just trying to get to know the area (and find a place to live!). One step at a time.

I'm doing an MA in Linguistics, and I am especially interested in Native American languages and cultures. I currently intern for the Language Conservancy and am working on some cool language revitalization projects that I would love to tell you about!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got into CSing on a 7 week tour of the British Isles, and it was fantastic! The people you meet and circumstances you find yourself in are unbelievable. I've mostly surfed, but I've had the opportunity to host a couple of times, and it is a truly rewarding experience. Everyone has a something to share. Cliche, but true nevertheless.

Lately I haven't been as active, haven't been travelling as much and haven't had a good place for hosting, but hopefully that will change now in Missoula!

Music, Movies, and Books

Big Cormac McCarthy fan. I like stuff that's gritty and grimey, but I like fun stuff too, sometimes. I don't actively dislike much in the way of media, except Harry Potter, but that has more to do with the fans than the books (sorry, not sorry).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting quite lost in the majority of cities I've been in, and somehow (mostly divine intervention) finding my way back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like to talk about linguistics and language rights, especially as it pertains to Native communities and other minorities in the US.

I really enjoy theological and otherwise generally religious/philosophical discussions with folks. Worldview swapping is a great way to broaden your understanding of the world and it's inhabitants.

Other than that, just ask, I might surprise you! I'd love to learn anything you can teach me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I make the best Mac N Cheese this side of the Mississippi.

Countries I’ve Visited

Germany, Ireland, Scotland, United Kingdom, Wales
